Lenovo Kensington NanoSaver MasterKey Cable Lock, 1.8 m
Nano SlotMasterKey system10 mm lock head1.8 m steel cable
The NanoSaver MasterKey Cable Lock from Lenovo (4XE1B81917) is a keyed Kensington cable lock for devices with the Nano Security Slot, with a 10 mm lock head and a 1.8 m carbon steel cable, built for organisations that manage laptop locks centrally with a master key. Lenovo lists it for ThinkPad and ThinkCentre models such as the ThinkPad T14s Gen 3, X13 Gen 3, L13 Yoga Gen 3 and ThinkCentre M75t Gen 2.
The lock is part of Lenovo and Kensington MasterKey system: each lock has its own keys, while IT opens every lock in the system with the separate MasterKey (Lenovo part 4Z10P40249). The 5 mm keying system is compatible with Lenovo 5 mm keying systems, including MicroSaver 2.0, so it can join an existing custom keying setup.
Before you order: The MasterKey itself (Lenovo 4Z10P40249) is not included and must be ordered separately if IT needs master access. This lock fits the Nano Security Slot only; laptops with the classic K-Slot need a different lock.
What's in the Box
- 1 x NanoSaver MasterKey cable lock with 1.8 m cable
- MasterKey 4Z10P40249 not included (sold separately)
What It Means in Practice
- IT can open any lock in the MasterKey system with one key, so a lost user key does not mean cutting the cable.
- The 10 mm head with Cleat Locking Technology is sized for thin laptops, tablets, desktops, monitors and accessories with a Nano slot.
- The cable pivots and rotates at the head, so the key can be inserted without awkward angles.
- Hidden Pin anti-pick technology protects the tubular lock against picking.
What Will Not Work
- Devices with a standard K-Slot or a Wedge slot.
- Master access without the separate MasterKey 4Z10P40249.
- Devices with no security slot (most tablets and many consumer laptops).
- Bolt-cutter or prolonged forced attack; a cable lock is a deterrent.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
This lock makes sense when your organisation already runs, or plans, a Lenovo or Kensington master keyed system for ThinkPads with the Nano slot. For a single lock without central management, a standard keyed or combination lock is simpler. If the laptop sits on a docking station, check whether the dock has its own slot.
✓ Buy it if you manage ThinkPad locks centrally and use, or will order, the Lenovo MasterKey.
✕ Skip it if your laptops have a K-Slot or you do not need master key access.
→ Also consider StarTech.com UNIVKMKO-LAPTOP-LOCK, a master keyed 3-in-1 lock for K-Slot, Nano and Wedge.
Send us your ThinkPad or ThinkCentre model and we will confirm the slot type before you order.
