The KeySonic KSK-6231INEL (28093) is a fully sealed silicone keyboard for places where an ordinary keyboard does not survive: laboratories, production lines, workshops, kitchens and clinical rooms. The whole surface is silicone-coated and rated IP68 — dust-tight and protected against permanent immersion — so it can be rinsed, wiped down and disinfected rather than replaced. An integrated touchpad with two mouse buttons replaces the mouse entirely and still works through rubber gloves, a blue backlight with two brightness levels makes it readable in a dark room, and the key markings are UV-resistant so they do not fade in sunlight. It is 10 mm thin, weighs 600 g, and plugs into any USB port. This part number is the UK English layout in black. It is also available in white as KSK-6231INEL-WH.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Plug and play over USB 2.0 Type-A with a 1.8 m fixed cable, powered from the port. KeySonic lists Windows as the supported system; the touchpad and keyboard follow standard HID, so they work on macOS and Linux too. The keys use carbon contacts with plastic pestles rated at about 2 million strokes — robust for a sealed keyboard but well below a mechanical office board, so this is a keyboard for hostile environments rather than for a heavy typing desk. The silicone surface gives a soft, damped keystroke that takes some getting used to. Layout: UK English QWERTY has the tall Enter key, £ on Shift+3, and @ and " swapped compared with US layout. Letters and numbers are identical to US; if you need the US key shapes, ask us for the US International version. There is no numeric keypad in the standard sense — the 98-key layout is compact.
