Kingston Server Premier 48GB DDR5-5600 ECC UDIMM
48GBDDR5-5600 CL461.1VUnbuffered ECC
The Kingston Server Premier KSM56E46BD8KM-48HM is a 48GB 288-pin unbuffered ECC DDR5 DIMM (ECC UDIMM) rated at 5600 MT/s with CL46 latency at 1.1V, for DDR5 workstations and entry servers that use unbuffered ECC memory.
It comes as one 48GB module, giving 48GB in total and up to 44.8 GB/s of peak bandwidth per module (PC5-44800). ECC corrects single-bit memory errors on the fly — the reason workstations, NAS builds and small servers use it — without the registering buffer of an RDIMM.
Typical uses: CAD and engineering workstations, compact servers, NAS and storage builds on ECC-capable platforms, and any machine that runs unattended for weeks at a time.
Before you order: ECC UDIMM needs a platform that supports unbuffered ECC DDR5 (workstation/entry-server chipsets and CPUs). It does not work in servers that require registered RDIMMs, and in consumer desktops ECC support depends on the board and CPU — ask us before ordering.
What's in the Box
- 1 × 48GB DDR5 ECC UDIMM module
- Manufacturer packaging — memory installs tool-free into the slot, no cables or drivers needed
What It Means in Practice
- It runs at JEDEC 5600 MT/s CL46 — the server applies the speed automatically, limited by the CPU and by how many DIMMs per channel are installed.
- Server memory performs best with every memory channel populated evenly — fill channels in identical sets, following the server’s population guide.
- 48GB suits heavy content creation, large projects, virtual machines and professional applications that cache aggressively.
- Install with the server powered off and unplugged, following the vendor’s DIMM population order; the BIOS/BMC will report the new capacity and any configuration warning at the next boot.
- After the first boot, check the memory event log in the BMC (iDRAC, iLO, XClarity or similar) — corrected ECC events are logged there, which is useful for spotting a failing module early.
What Will Not Work
- Servers that require registered (RDIMM) memory
- Laptops (SO-DIMM) and DDR4/DDR3 systems
- Consumer platforms without ECC support — the module may not run, or ECC will be inactive
Key Features
5600 MT/s · CL46
Rated 5600 MT/s (PC5-44800) with 46-45-45 timings at 1.1V.
48GB module
Single 48GB module, 2Rx8, 24Gbit Hynix M-die.
ECC data integrity
Unbuffered ECC with on-die ECC inside the DRAM — errors are corrected before they reach applications or storage.
Server Premier consistency
Kingston Server Premier uses controlled BOMs with locked DRAM die revisions and is platform-validated with Intel and AMD — useful when adding modules to an existing server later.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know my server takes this exact module?
Check the server’s memory guide for DDR5 ECC UDIMM at 5600 MT/s and the supported module capacity (48GB, 2Rx8). Send us the server model and we confirm it against Kingston’s configurator.
Will it run at 5600 MT/s in every server?
Not always. The CPU generation and the number of DIMMs per channel set the actual speed; a faster module simply runs at the speed the platform allows.
Can I add it to modules already installed?
Only if they match: same type (ECC UDIMM), and ideally the same capacity, rank and speed. Mixing ranks or capacities can lower speed or be unsupported by the platform — tell us what is installed and we match it.
What does the warranty cover?
Lifetime warranty per Kingston (subject to local definitions). Singular adds its own 1-year warranty and handles any claim for you — bring or send us the module and we take care of the manufacturer process.
