Kingston Canvas Select Plus microSDXC 128GB — everyday card for phones, tablets and Full HD cameras
128GB microSDXCUHS-I U1 · V10 · A1Read up to 150 MB/sSD adapter included
The Kingston Canvas Select Plus 128GB (SDCS3/128GB) is a microSDXC memory card rated Class 10, UHS-I U1, V10 and A1, with read speeds up to 150 MB/s, for Android phones, tablets, Nintendo Switch-type consoles, dashcams and Full HD cameras. It comes with a microSD-to-SD adapter, so the same card also works in laptops and cameras with a full-size SD slot.
It is a sensible everyday card: enough room for thousands of photos or many hours of Full HD video, app-ready A1 performance on Android, and Kingston's lifetime limited warranty. Kingston publishes no write speed for this capacity, only the U1 / V10 minimum of 10 MB/s, so it is not the card for 4K video — for that, look at a U3 / V30 card.
Before you order: An SDXC card (64 GB and larger): it needs a device that supports microSDXC — look for the logo or check the manual. Devices that support only SDHC (32 GB maximum, common in cameras, car radios and phones made before about 2011) cannot read it, even after formatting.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Kingston Canvas Select Plus microSDXC card, 128GB
- 1 × microSD-to-SD adapter
What It Means in Practice
- V10 / U1 guarantees a minimum sustained write of 10 MB/s: fine for photos, Full HD video, dashcams and general storage, but below what most 4K cameras require (U3 / V30).
- A1 (min. 1500 read / 500 write IOPS) means apps installed on the card in Android open and run at an acceptable speed.
- The up to 150 MB/s read figure is the maximum measured by Kingston with a fast host; in a USB 2.0 reader or an older device real speed is much lower.
- Usable capacity is a little below 128GB because part of the card is used for formatting and management — this is normal for every memory card.
- It comes formatted as exFAT. For best reliability, format it once in the device that will use it (camera, phone, recorder) before the first recording.
- If you plan to move apps to the card on Android, the A1 rating keeps them usable; for heavy 4K recording choose a U3 / V30 card instead.
What Will Not Work
- Devices limited to SDHC (32 GB maximum) — they will not recognise the card.
- UHS-II speeds — this is a UHS-I card; UHS-II cameras and readers run it at UHS-I speed.
- 4K cameras and drones that require U3 / V30 — they may refuse the card or stop recording.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work in my device?
An SDXC card (64 GB and larger): it needs a device that supports microSDXC — look for the logo or check the manual. Devices that support only SDHC (32 GB maximum, common in cameras, car radios and phones made before about 2011) cannot read it, even after formatting.
Can I use it in a camera or laptop with a full-size SD slot?
Yes. Insert the card into the supplied microSD-to-SD adapter and use the adapter like a normal SD card. Keep the adapter lock switch in the unlocked position, otherwise the card is read-only.
Why does my computer show less than 128GB?
Card makers count 1 GB as 1,000,000,000 bytes while Windows and macOS count in binary units, and part of the card is reserved for formatting and wear management. A 128GB card therefore shows somewhat less — that is not a fault.
What write speed should I expect?
Kingston does not publish a write speed for the 128GB card. The U1 / V10 rating guarantees at least 10 MB/s sustained write, which covers photos and Full HD video comfortably.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Canvas Select Plus is Kingston's value line: the 128GB size is the sweet spot for phones, tablets and handheld consoles where Full HD video and apps matter more than raw write speed. If your camera or drone asks for U3 / V30, step up to Canvas Go! Plus. Need a reader for it? See our
card readers.
✓ Buy it if you need a reliable 128GB microSD for a phone, tablet, console or Full HD camera and want the SD adapter in the box.
✕ Skip it if you record 4K video or fly a drone that requires U3 / V30, or your device supports only SDHC (32 GB maximum).
→ Also consider SDCS3/128GBSP — the same card without the SD adapter; Kingston Canvas Go! Plus (U3 / V30, A2) for 4K cameras and drones.
