Kingston DataTraveler 70 64 GB — USB-C Only, 7 g
64 GBUSB 3.2 Gen 1USB-C connector only59 x 18.5 x 9 mm, 7 g
The Kingston DataTraveler 70 is a 64 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive with a single USB-C connector. Kingston describes it as a portable, lightweight USB-C drive designed for use with USB-C devices — modern laptops, Android phones and tablets, Macs and Chromebooks. It measures 59 x 18.5 x 9 mm and weighs 7 g, and it is backed by Kingston’s five-year warranty with free technical support.
Compatibility — check before buying:
???? This drive has a USB-C connector and nothing else. There is no USB-A end and no adapter in the pack, so it will not plug into an older laptop, a desktop tower, a car stereo or a television without an adapter you supply yourself. That is the reverse of the usual warning — most flash drives are USB-A only and cannot reach a phone; this one is USB-C only and cannot reach an older computer. Two Kingston part numbers to keep well clear of.
DTDUO, the microDuo, is USB 2.0 with a micro-USB plug — not USB-C, and a generation slower. DTDUO3CG3, the microDuo 3C, genuinely is USB-C, and it has a USB-A end as well; it is also the one Kingston publishes a speed for (up to 200 MB/s read). If you need to reach both a phone and an old desktop, that dual-ended drive is the better tool. One honest gap: Kingston publishes no MB/s figure for the DataTraveler 70 at any capacity — only the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard, with its own note that speed varies with the host and device. Any number quoted elsewhere did not come from Kingston.Best For
✓ Modern laptops with USB-C ports and no USB-A left
✓ Android phones and tablets with USB-C, and recent iPhones
✓ Macs and Chromebooks, where USB-C is often all there is
✓ Moving photographs and video off a phone without a cloud account
✓ Anyone who has already replaced every other cable with USB-C
✓ Buyers who want a real five-year manufacturer term
Key Features
USB-C, straight in
No adapter, no dongle, no dual-ended body. On a machine or a phone whose ports are all USB-C, this simply plugs in.
7 grams
Light enough to leave on a keyring or loose in a bag without noticing, and light enough not to strain a phone’s port when it is hanging off one.
Five years, with support
Kingston covers the drive for five years and includes free technical support. That is longer than most flash drives carry and it is a genuine part of what you are paying for.
Chrome OS on the list
Kingston lists Windows 11 and 10, macOS 12.7.6 and later, Linux 4.4.x and later, and Chrome OS — useful if the drive is going into a school or an office running Chromebooks.

Singular Expert Insight
The DataTraveler 70 answers a problem that gets more common every year: a laptop or a phone with nothing but USB-C ports and files that need to move. It does it in 7 grams with five years of Kingston cover behind it, which is a better warranty than most of this shelf carries. Two things to weigh. It is USB-C only, so it is useless on an older machine without your own adapter — if your world is mixed, a dual-ended drive is the safer buy and we stock several in our USB flash drives range. And Kingston publishes no speed for it, so you cannot compare it on paper with drives that do. For editing large files rather than carrying them, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
Every device you need to reach has a USB-C port, and you want a light 64 GB drive from a major brand with a five-year term.
Skip it if
You also need to plug into an older USB-A computer — there is no adapter in the pack. Or you want a published speed figure before you buy.
Also consider
Kingston microDuo 3C (DTDUO3CG3) for USB-C plus USB-A on one body, with a published 200 MB/s read. The 128 GB or 256 GB DataTraveler 70 if 64 GB is tight. Any dual-ended drive if your machines are mixed.
