Kingston DataTraveler Exodia G2 128 GB — Snap-On Cap, Coloured Keyring Hole
128 GBUSB 3.2 Gen 1, Type-ASnap-on cap, keyring hole5-year Kingston warranty
The Kingston DataTraveler Exodia G2 is a 128 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive with a USB-A connection, a snap-on cap and a coloured keyring hole. It measures 60.8 x 21.4 x 10.4 mm and weighs 9.3 g. Kingston accents the range in four colours by capacity — timeless black, sea blue, lime green and very violet — and covers the drive for five years with free technical support.
Compatibility — check before buying:
???? Kingston sells this drive and the older
DTX under the identical name “DataTraveler Exodia”. There is no “G2” in the product name at all — it appears only in the part number and the web address, so the name on a listing cannot tell you which one you are buying. This one, DTXG2, has a snap-on cap with a coloured keyring hole, measures 60.8 mm and goes up to 512 GB. The older DTX has a detachable cap and a larger loop, is longer at 67.3 mm, and stops at 256 GB. The rest of the family differ only in the cap mechanism: DTXM moving, DTXS swivel, and DTXON (Exodia Onyx) moving in matte black only. Order by part number, and watch for the -2P suffix elsewhere in the range, which means a two-pack rather than a capacity. This is a USB Type-A drive with no USB-C connector and no adapter in the pack. One honest gap: Kingston publishes no MB/s figure for any Exodia at any capacity — only the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard, with the note that speed varies with the host.Best For
✓ Everyday transport of documents, photographs and installers
✓ Drives that live on a keyring — the hole is coloured and moulded in
✓ Buyers who want a major-brand drive with a real five-year term
✓ Machines and laptops with USB-A ports
✓ Buying several at once where a colour tells you the capacity
✓ Anyone who wants a cap that snaps on rather than pulling loose
Key Features
Snap-on cap
It clicks into place rather than sliding off, which is the practical middle ground between a loose cap and a swivel mechanism — the connector is fully covered and the cap stays where you put it.
Coloured keyring hole
Moulded into the body and colour-accented. Kingston uses four colours across the range — timeless black, sea blue, lime green and very violet — assigned by capacity.
Up to 512 GB in the family
The G2 goes further than the original Exodia, which stops at 256 GB. If you might need a much larger drive later in the same body, this is the line to standardise on.
Five years, with support
Kingston covers the drive for five years and includes free technical support — longer than most drives on this shelf carry.

Singular Expert Insight
The Exodia G2 is the version of Kingston’s everyday stick worth defaulting to: the cap snaps on rather than pulling loose, the keyring hole is properly part of the body, it is shorter and lighter than the original, and the family reaches 512 GB if you ever need to buy a much bigger one that matches. Five years of cover with technical support is a real differentiator at this price. The one thing you cannot do is compare it on paper — Kingston will not print a speed for any Exodia, so the choice against another brand comes down to warranty, body and name. If numbers are what you need, several makers in our USB flash drives range publish per capacity. For large working files, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a 128 GB stick from a major brand with a cap that stays put, a proper keyring hole, and a five-year warranty with support behind it.
Skip it if
You compare drives by published MB/s — Kingston publishes none for this range. Or you need a USB-C connector, or a specific colour guaranteed.
Also consider
Kingston DataTraveler Exodia S (DTXS) for a swivel cap in a smaller body. The 256 GB or 512 GB Exodia G2 if 128 GB is tight. A USB-C drive if a phone is involved.
