KMP B65C — Cyan Ink Cartridge for Brother LC985C
Replaces Brother LC985C4.6 mlUp to 260 pagesCyan
KMP B65C is a compatible cyan ink cartridge for Brother LC985C, holding 4.6 ml with a stated yield of up to 260 pages (ISO/IEC 24711) — for owners of Brother DCP and MFC printers who want a lower-cost replacement for the original cartridge.
KMP PrintTechnik is a German maker of compatible printer supplies. Article 1523,4003 is listed by KMP for 8 Brother DCP and MFC models. KMP lists this cartridge without a chip.
Before you order: Brother cartridge numbers look alike but are not interchangeable: LC985C is a different cartridge from LC1100, LC123 or LC223. Check the number on your current cartridge or in the printer manual before ordering.
What's in the Box
- 1 × KMP B65C ink cartridge, Cyan, 4.6 ml
- Retail packaging — the printer and other colours are not included
What It Means in Practice
- 260 pages is the yield measured to ISO/IEC 24711 (standard 5% coverage test pages); photos and full-page graphics use much more ink.
- Each colour is a separate cartridge — replace only the colour the printer reports as low or empty.
- Remove any protective tape or cap before installing, and fit the cartridge straight away once it is unsealed.
- Store spare cartridges sealed, upright and at room temperature until you need them.
What Will Not Work
- Brother printers that take other cartridge numbers (LC1100, LC123 or LC223).
- Brother ink-tank (InkBenefit) and laser printers.
- Printers from other brands, even if the cartridge looks similar.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A compatible cartridge makes most sense on an older Brother DCP and MFC printer that is still working well, where originals cost more than the printer is worth. The common mistake is the cartridge number, not the brand: LC985C and LC1100 look alike but do not swap. Check the number first. If you need the manufacturer's own ink for critical colour work, see our original ink range.
✓ Buy it if Your printer is in the list above or your current cartridge is LC985C, and you want lower cost per page.
✕ Skip it if Your printer takes a different cartridge number, or you need manufacturer-original ink for colour-critical work.
→ Also consider The matching KMP LC985 cartridges in the other colours.
Not sure which ink your printer takes? Send us your printer model (printed on the front or on the label at the back) and we will confirm the right KMP cartridge or bottle before you order.
