KMP 1552,4003 – Compatible Cyan Ink for Brother LC422XLC
Replaces LC422XLC20 ml cyan1,500 pagesHigh capacity
The KMP 1552,4003 is a compatible cyan ink cartridge that replaces the Brother LC422XLC in Brother MFC-J5340DW, MFC-J5740DW, MFC-J6540DW, MFC-J6940DW and related printers, with 20 ml of ink for up to 1,500 pages (ISO/IEC 24711). It is made for home and small-office users who print regularly on these machines and want a lower cost per page than with the original.
KMP Printtechnik AG is a German manufacturer of printer consumables, and this is a KMP product rather than an original Brother cartridge. It goes into the same slot as the original, so the other colour slots of your printer are not affected.
What's in the Box
- 1 × KMP 1552,4003 cyan ink cartridge (20 ml)
- No other colours are included; each cartridge is sold separately
What It Means in Practice
- The 1,500-page figure is measured to ISO/IEC 24711 on a standard test page set. Pages with photos, large graphics or dense shading use more ink, so expect fewer pages with that kind of printing.
- Your printer may show a notice that a non-original cartridge is installed. Confirm the message and printing continues as normal.
- Keep the cartridge in its sealed pack until you need it and install it soon after opening, so the ink does not dry at the nozzles or contacts.
What Will Not Work
- Printers that are not in the compatibility list below. Models with similar names can take a different cartridge, so check the exact model.
- LC424 or LC421 cartridges: they belong to other Brother printers.
- Black printing: this is the cyan cartridge only.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A compatible cartridge such as the KMP 1552,4003 makes the most sense when you print documents and everyday office pages in volume, where cost per page matters more than an exact colour match with the original. For critical photo work, or when your printer is bound to the manufacturer’s ink programme, stay with the original cartridge. See our compatible ink cartridges for the other colours and sizes.
✓ Buy it if your printer is on the list above and you want LC422XLC capacity at a lower cost per page.
✕ Skip it if your printer is not listed, or you need an original Brother cartridge for warranty or subscription reasons.
→ Also consider the matching KMP LC422 cartridges in the other colours for the same printers.
Not sure which cartridge your printer takes? Send us the printer model and we will check it before you order.
