The Lanberg AD-UC-UA-01 is a USB-A (male) to USB-C (female) adapter with 5 Gbit/s data. It lets a USB-C cable or device plug into an older USB-A port — on a desktop PC, laptop, car socket, TV, power bank or wall charger.
Typical use: you have a USB-C to USB-C cable (from a new phone, earbuds or a controller) and only a USB-A port to plug it into. The adapter makes the cable usable for charging and data without buying a second cable.
Before you order: USB-A ports do not speak USB Power Delivery. Whatever charger or cable you use through this adapter, charging is limited to what the USB-A port provides — normally far below USB-C fast-charging levels.

What It Means in Practice
- 5 Gbit/s: a USB-C SSD or drive runs at USB 3 speed when the USB-A port is USB 3 (usually blue or marked SS).
- Compact plug-in design: it adds only a couple of centimetres to the port, so it can stay on the cable permanently.
- Plug-and-play — no driver on Windows, macOS, Linux or ChromeOS.
What Will Not Work
- No video: a USB-C monitor or display adapter will not work through a USB-A port.
- No laptop fast charging: a USB-C laptop will not charge at its rated wattage from a USB-A port through this adapter.
- Thunderbolt and USB4 devices fall back to plain USB or do not work at all.
- Do not confuse it with AD-UC-UA-02, which is the OTG direction (USB-C male to USB-A female).
