The Lanberg KSU5-3000 is a keystone-format feed-thru coupler that joins two RJ45 patch cables at Cat5e level, made for installers who build modular patch panels, desk boxes and surface-mount outlets without punching down any cable.
Both sides are RJ45 sockets. You snap the coupler into a standard keystone opening, plug a patch cable into the back and another into the front, and the panel behaves like a normal patch port. It is the quickest way to populate an empty modular panel when the cables arriving from the back are already terminated with plugs.
Before you order: This is the unshielded (UTP) Cat5e version. On shielded cabling, or where the link must be certified to Cat6, choose the matching shielded or Cat6 coupler instead — the shape is identical, so check the code before you order.

What It Means in Practice
- Turns an empty keystone patch panel (10" or 19") into working patch ports when your incoming cables already have RJ45 plugs.
- Useful in desk floor boxes, wall boxes and consolidation points where you want a clean socket instead of a loose cable end.
- Pin-for-pin pass-through: whatever arrives on the back socket appears on the front socket, so T568A or T568B wiring is decided by the cables, not by the coupler.
- Supports Gigabit Ethernet over Cat5e links and passes PoE (the manufacturer lists a maximum of 36 V).
What Will Not Work
- It does not terminate bare installation cable — there are no LSA/punch-down contacts. For solid cable you need a keystone jack with an IDC back.
- It does not carry a cable shield through; on FTP/STP runs the shield continuity is lost.
- It is not a Cat6 or Cat6A component; a link with this coupler is limited to Cat5e performance.
- It only fits standard keystone openings; it will not clip into proprietary module formats.
