The LANCOM 1800VA-5G is an SD-WAN gateway for branch offices and SMEs that combines a VDSL2 supervectoring modem, a 5G modem (SA and NSA, 4x4 MIMO) and five Gigabit Ethernet ports in one German-made box. It can run DSL, 5G and Ethernet/fibre WAN lines side by side for load balancing and automatic failover, so the office stays online if one line drops.
With the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC) it becomes a zero-touch SD-WAN node with Auto-VPN and dynamic path selection; locally it offers 5 IPsec/WireGuard VPN tunnels (up to 25 with the VPN-25 option), 16 ARF networks and VRRP.
Before you order: The DSL modem is built around VDSL2 profiles up to 35b with vectoring/supervectoring and ADSL2+ fallback. Line profiles differ between providers — tell us your Cyprus line type before relying on the internal modem; otherwise use an Ethernet or SFP WAN to the provider's modem/ONT. The LMC licence is sold separately and there is no Wi-Fi on this model.

What It Means in Practice
- Use 5G as the main line where fibre is not yet available, or as automatic backup for DSL/fibre.
- Connect a fibre ONT through the SFP combo port (LANCOM SFP modules only) or any WAN over Ethernet; up to 4 WAN lines can be balanced.
- Link branch offices securely with WireGuard or IPsec VPN, managed centrally from the cloud.
- Insert a micro-SIM (nano with adapter); eSIM with up to 8 profiles from hardware revision D.
What Will Not Work
- Wi-Fi — the 1800VA-5G has no wireless LAN; add access points.
- Analogue phones, ISDN or fax — no telephony ports (SIP ALG and an optional All-IP licence only).
- Third-party SFP modules — LANCOM supports its own modules only.
- Published 5G/LTE throughput figures — LANCOM does not state maximum mobile data rates.
