The LANCOM Public Spot Option (item 60642), now under Rohde & Schwarz, is a software licence that turns a LANCOM router, gateway or access point into a hotspot gateway. Guests log in through a web portal, with printed vouchers, credentials sent by e-mail or SMS, or simply by accepting the terms of use, while their traffic stays separated from the internal network. Access can be limited by time or data volume, with bandwidth profiles, a walled garden and HTTPS login. It also connects to RADIUS servers and to hotel systems (FIAS, Micros Fidelio). In practice it provides controlled guest Wi-Fi for hotels, cafés and offices.

Compatibility — check before buying:
One licence per device, for LANCOM LCOS routers and access points. The number of concurrent users depends on the device: 256 on 1900-series and 2100EF, 128 on 1800, 17xx and 88x series, 64 on access points and IAP-5G/IGR-750EF-5G. Larger controllers (WLC-2000, ISG) need the separate Public Spot XL Option. LANCOM does not publish a Unified Firewall or LCOS LX/SX version of this licence. Tell us your device and we confirm it.
