LANCOM SFP-DAC10-1m — 10G SFP+ direct attach cable, 1 m
10G SFP+1 m copper DACHot-swappableFor R&S LANCOM
The LANCOM SFP-DAC10-1m is a 1 m SFP+ direct attach copper cable (DAC) rated up to 10 gbit/s (1g and 10g), made for 10G uplinks between R&S LANCOM access switches, aggregation switches and gateways in the same or the next rack.
LANCOM Systems now trades as R&S®LANCOM (Rohde & Schwarz). A DAC has the SFP+ connectors moulded onto both ends of the cable, so you plug it straight into two ports — no separate transceivers and no fibre patch cord. R&S LANCOM tests these cables with its own switches and lists them in each switch’s official accessory list.
Before you order: Your R&S LANCOM switch needs firmware LCOS SX 3.30 RU3 or later to use this cable — check the version before you plug it in. R&S LANCOM excludes support for third-party accessories, so this is a cable for LANCOM-to-LANCOM links.
What's in the Box
- 1 × R&S LANCOM SFP-DAC10-1m direct attach copper cable, 1 m, SFP+ connector fixed at each end
- Nothing else is needed: the connectors are part of the cable, so you do not buy SFP+ transceivers for these links.
What It Means in Practice
- One cable replaces two SFP+ transceivers plus a fibre patch cord on short links — fewer parts and nothing to clean.
- At 1 m it suits switches in the same rack, typically one or a few units apart. For the next rack, the 3 m version is the safer length.
- Hot-swappable: it can be connected and removed while the switch is running.
- Rated for 0–70 °C operation, so it is fine in a warm, densely packed rack.
What Will Not Work
- The CS-8132F core switch: its 32 ports are QSFP28 and its accessory list does not include the 10G DAC.
- Other brands: R&S LANCOM tests these cables only with its own products and excludes support for third-party accessories. We do not promise a link in Cisco, HPE Aruba or other switches, server NICs or NAS units — those vendors list their own coded DACs.
- Switches still on LCOS SX older than 3.30 RU3 — update the firmware first.
- Runs longer than 1 m: a DAC is a fixed-length cable and cannot be extended or re-terminated.
Key Features
No transceivers needed
The SFP+ connectors are moulded onto the cable, so a short link costs one part instead of two optics plus a patch cord.
Listed by R&S LANCOM
Tested for compatibility with R&S LANCOM products and named in the switch datasheets’ accessory lists.
Hot-swappable
Plug in or pull out during operation, without powering the switch down.
10G full duplex
Up to 10 Gbit/s (1G and 10G), full duplex, over copper twinax.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I also need SFP+ modules?
No. The SFP+ connectors are built into both ends of the cable; plug it directly into the two switch ports.
Will it work in a Cisco or HPE switch, or a server network card?
R&S LANCOM tests it only with its own products and does not support third-party use. For mixed-vendor links, tell us both models and we will suggest the right cable.
Is there a bulk pack?
For several links, check the SFP-DAC10-1m 8-pack bulk (60194) before ordering single cables one by one.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For short 10G links between R&S LANCOM devices, a DAC is the cheapest and most robust option: no optics, no fibre to clean, and the part is on LANCOM’s own accessory list. Pick the length by where the two ports physically are — 1 m inside one rack, 3 m to the next. Browse our
switches if you are still choosing the hardware.
✓ Buy it if you are linking two R&S LANCOM devices with SFP+ ports that sit within about a metre of each other.
✕ Skip it if one end is a non-LANCOM device, the ports are a different type, or the distance is longer than 1 m.
→ Also consider SFP-DAC10-3m (60175), or SFP-DAC10-1m 8-pack bulk (60194).
