The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client Windows Upgrade (item 61603) is a single-user upgrade licence that brings an existing LANCOM Advanced VPN Client licence for Windows up to the current version. It is for companies whose remote staff already use the LANCOM client with LANCOM VPN gateways and routers, and want the current release on Windows 10 and Windows 11 without buying a new full licence.
LANCOM lists the upgrade as the route for licences from client versions 4.1 and 5.2; from version 6.0 onwards updates are free, and licences older than that (before V1.3 and V2.0–V3.1) need a new full licence instead. The product is now offered under the R&S®LANCOM name.
Before you order: This is an upgrade, not a full licence: you need an existing LANCOM Advanced VPN Client Windows licence (version 4.1 or 5.2) and its serial number. If you are on V6.x already, updates are free; if you have no licence or an older one, you need the full licence instead.

What It Means in Practice
- You enter the 15-character upgrade key together with your client's 8-digit serial number on LANCOM's upgrade page, and receive a new 20-character licence key to activate the client online or offline.
- One licence runs on one system at a time; it can be deactivated and moved to a new PC.
- After the upgrade, updates within the version are free.
- The client works best with LANCOM VPN gateways; features like Seamless Roaming need LCOS 8.6 or later on the router.
What Will Not Work
- It does not work without a qualifying existing licence — it is not a stand-alone full licence.
- It does not cover macOS; the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for macOS is a separate product.
- It does not add users: one upgrade licence = one user/system.
- Licences from before V1.3 and V2.0–V3.1 cannot use this upgrade.
