Lenovo ThinkVision P34wd-40 — One Cable For Your Laptop, Your Network and a 34-inch Ultrawide

34-inch IPS, WQHD 3440x1440, 21:9USB-C with 140 W power delivery2.5GbE ethernet and built-in KVMFactory calibrated, Delta E under 2

The Lenovo ThinkVision P34wd-40 is a 34-inch curved ultrawide built for a desk where one cable should do everything. Its USB-C port carries video, data and up to 140 W of power to a laptop, while the monitor itself provides 2.5 Gigabit ethernet, a nine-port USB hub and a KVM switch that moves your keyboard and mouse between two computers. The IPS panel runs 3440x1440 at up to 120 Hz, covers 98% DCI-P3 and 99% sRGB, and arrives factory calibrated to an average Delta E below 2 with a printed report in the box. It is aimed at engineers, editors, traders and anyone who works across two machines or three windows at once.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Check your desk before you check the specs. This screen is 817 mm wide and needs 220 mm of depth with the stand — measure first, because a 34-inch 21:9 panel is considerably wider than a 32-inch 16:9 one. There is no webcam and no microphone. Lenovo lists “Modular Camera Support”, which means a camera can be attached and is sold separately. There is no headphone or audio-out jack either — the two 3 W speakers are built in, and an external soundbar is an optional extra. The 140 W power delivery is on the upstream USB-C port only; the two downstream USB-C ports are data-only with 15 W. And note Sync Technology: None — despite the 120 Hz refresh, Lenovo publishes no FreeSync or G-Sync support, so this is a productivity monitor with a fast panel, not a gaming display. Tell us your laptop model and we will confirm the USB-C charging before you order.

Best For

✓ Laptop docks — one USB-C cable for video, data, network and 140 W charging
✓ Colour work needing a factory-calibrated, DCI-P3 wide gamut panel
✓ Working across two computers with the built-in KVM
✓ Trading, engineering and code work with three windows side by side
✓ Offices standardising on a wired 2.5GbE connection at the desk
✓ Replacing a dual-monitor setup with one uninterrupted 21:9 screen

Key Features

One cable, and the laptop charges too
The upstream USB-C port carries DisplayPort 1.4 video, 10 Gbps data and USB PD 3.1 at up to 140 W. That is enough for most 14 and 16-inch mobile workstations, so the laptop’s own charger can stay in the bag.

A network port and a nine-port hub
2.5 Gigabit ethernet, five USB-A ports, two downstream USB-C ports and a USB-B upstream port live on the back of the screen. The dock and the display are the same object.

A KVM switch built in
The eKVM function shares one keyboard and mouse between two connected computers, with True Split and Picture-by-Picture to show both at once. No separate KVM box, no second set of peripherals.

Calibrated at the factory, and it says so on paper
98% DCI-P3, 99% sRGB, 1.07 billion colours from a 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) panel, calibrated to an average Delta E below 2 for both DCI-P3 and sRGB. The calibration report ships in the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will one USB-C cable charge my laptop and drive the screen?
Yes, if your laptop supports USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery. The port supplies up to 140 W, which covers most 14 and 16-inch mobile workstations as well as every thin-and-light. Send us your laptop model and we will confirm the wattage it needs.
Does it have a webcam or a microphone?
No. Lenovo lists “Modular Camera Support”, which means an optional camera module can be fitted — it is not included and is bought separately. There is no built-in microphone at all. The two 3 W speakers are built in.
Is this a gaming monitor? It does 120 Hz.
Not as Lenovo positions it. The panel reaches 120 Hz and 4 ms GtG in Extreme mode, which makes everything feel smooth, but Lenovo publishes “Sync Technology: None” — no FreeSync, no G-Sync. It is a business and colour-work display that happens to be fast.
Can I run two computers on it?
Yes. The built-in eKVM switch shares one keyboard and mouse between two connected machines, and Picture-by-Picture or True Split can show both on screen at once. There is also a DisplayPort out for daisy chaining a second monitor.
Singular Expert Insight
The number that decides this purchase is 140. Most USB-C monitors stop at 65 or 90 W, which means a mobile workstation still needs its own charger on the desk — the whole point of one-cable working evaporates. At 140 W this one genuinely replaces the laptop brick for almost anything short of a gaming laptop. Pair that with the 2.5GbE port and the nine-port hub and it is doing the job of a docking station as well as a screen, which is worth factoring into the price comparison. Two things to be clear-eyed about: there is no camera and no microphone in the box despite the “modular camera” wording, and the 120 Hz refresh comes without any adaptive sync. If you want the same dock-style convenience at 16:9, our PC monitor range has the flat alternatives.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You dock a laptop daily and want video, 2.5GbE network, a USB hub and up to 140 W of charging from a single cable — and you need a calibrated 98% DCI-P3 panel for colour work. The 155 mm height range and 3-year manufacturer term suit a permanent desk.

Skip it if

You need a webcam and microphone built in, an audio jack, or adaptive sync for gaming — none of those are here. Also skip it if your desk is under 90 cm wide, because the screen alone is 81.7 cm.

Also consider

ThinkVision P32ud-40 if you would rather have 4K at 16:9 than ultrawide. A 27-inch QHD model such as the P27qd-40 for a smaller desk with the same ThinkVision dock features. A separate USB-C dock plus an existing monitor if the screen you have is still good.
