The LevelOne FPS-1033 is a multi-port print server that shares three printers on your network at the same time: two on USB 2.0 and one on a parallel port. Any computer on the network can print to any of them, with no PC running as print host. It supports TCP/IP, IPX, NetBEUI and AppleTalk, with LPR, SMB, IPP and RAW printing, and works with Windows, Mac OS, Unix/Linux and NetWare. In practice one grey box next to the switch puts a new USB laser, a USB label printer and an older parallel printer on the network together.

Compatibility — check before buying:
The parallel port is a 25-pin D-sub (female), so a parallel printer needs a DB25-to-Centronics cable, and USB printers need their USB cables — no printer cables are included. The manufacturer lists Windows ME to Windows 7, Mac OS 8.1 or higher and Unix/Linux; Windows 10 and 11 are not on that list. The server supports LPR and RAW printing, so a current PC can add it as a standard TCP/IP printer port, but the maker’s setup utility is only listed for the older systems. It shares printing only — scanning, fax and ink or toner status of multifunction printers are not listed, and host-based (GDI) printers that rely on a special driver link are not confirmed. Does it work with Windows 10 and 11?
LevelOne lists Windows ME to Windows 7, Mac OS 8.1 or higher and Unix/Linux. You can add it as a standard TCP/IP port (LPR or RAW) on a current PC; tell us your PC and printer and we confirm before you order.
Can I scan through it?
No. It shares printing only. For network scanning, use a printer with its own network port or a USB device server with scanning software.
Can all three printers print at once?
Yes. Each port is shared on the network, so all three printers are available at the same time.
What cables do I need?
USB cables for the USB printers, a DB25-to-Centronics cable for a parallel printer, and a network cable. None are included.
