The LevelOne GNC-0110 is a Gigabit fibre PCIe network card with SFP slot that adds a Gigabit SFP cage to a desktop PC, workstation or server through a PCIe 2.1 x1 slot. Its SFP slot takes a Gigabit fibre module, so a PC or server can join a fibre network directly without a media converter. It uses the Intel I210 controller. Low-profile bracket included. A dedicated network card is the usual fix when the onboard port has failed, when the machine needs a second, separate network, or when it should move to a faster link than the motherboard offers.
