LevelOne HVE-8111 — HDMI over Cat.6 KVM Extender Kit, 4K up to 100 m with USB
4K/60Hz up to 60 m4K/30Hz up to 100 mUSB keyboard & mousePoC — one power supply
The LevelOne HVE-8111 is an HDMI KVM extender kit — transmitter and receiver — that sends HDMI 2.0 video (up to 4K/60Hz, 18 Gbps, HDCP 2.2) and USB 1.1 keyboard/mouse signals over a single Cat.6 cable: 4K/60Hz up to 60 m and 4K/30Hz up to 100 m. It is built for server rooms, control centres and workstations where the computer stays in one place and the user sits at another.
The transmitter has a local HDMI loop-out so a monitor at the source keeps working. Power over Cable (unilateral PoC) feeds the remote receiver through the Cat cable, so only one 12V power adapter is needed for the kit.
Before you order: Rated distances are for Cat.6 cable: 60 m at 4K/60Hz, 100 m at 4K/30Hz. Use a continuous, solid-core Cat.6 run with no network switch in between. USB is 1.1 — for keyboards and mice, not storage or cameras.

- 1× receiver
- 1× power adapter (DC 12V/1A)

What It Means in Practice
- Connect the USB A-to-B cable from the transmitter to the PC; keyboard and mouse go into the receiver.
- One power adapter powers the kit thanks to PoC — no socket needed at the remote end.
- The HDMI loop-out keeps a local screen next to the PC.
- Operating range −5 to 55°C suits equipment rooms and industrial spaces.
What Will Not Work
- Not routable over a LAN switch; it is a point-to-point Cat link.
- No IR or RS-232 control channel is listed.
- USB 1.1 only — no USB drives, webcams or audio interfaces.
- Not one-to-many: one transmitter feeds one receiver.
- No 4K/60Hz beyond 60 m.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Cat.5e cable?
LevelOne publishes distances for Cat.6 only. Use Cat.6 or better to reach the rated 60/100 m.
Does the remote end need a power socket?
No. With unilateral PoC, the receiver is powered through the Cat cable from the transmitter side.
Will a USB touch screen work?
LevelOne lists keyboard and mouse control over USB 1.1; ask us with the touch-screen model before relying on it.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The HVE-8111 is a tidy 4K KVM kit for keeping a PC or server in a safe room while you work at a distance. Its one-adapter PoC design simplifies installs where the remote end has no socket. Reach depends on solid-core Cat.6 — see our
network cables.
✓ Buy it if you need 4K video plus keyboard and mouse at up to 100 m over a single Cat.6 cable.
✕ Skip it if you need to route over a LAN, connect several screens or use IR/RS-232 control.
