The LevelOne POS-5002 is a 2.5 Gigabit PoE splitter. It sits at the far end of a PoE cable and separates it into a network connection and a DC power output for a device that has no PoE input of its own. The output voltage is selected by DIP switch — 12 V at 5 A, 19 V at 3.15 A or 24 V at 2.5 A — for up to 60 W, and four interchangeable DC tips are supplied. Data passes at up to 2.5 Gb/s. It has short-circuit protection and auto-detection. In practice it lets you power a non-PoE access point, camera or mini PC from a PoE switch.

Compatibility — check before buying:
The 60 W output needs a PoE++ (802.3bt) source. LevelOne’s headline states 60 W PoE++, while its standards list names 802.3af/at; on an 802.3at (30 W) switch port, expect no more than about 30 W. Set the voltage before connecting — a wrong setting can damage the device. DC tips: 5.5×2.5, 5.5×2.1, 4.8×1.7 and 3.5×1.3 mm. Not sure? Tell us your model and we check it for you.
