The LevelOne SFP-2602 is a 2.5 Gbps industrial SFP transceiver for single-mode fibre, reaching up to 2 km at 1310 nm over a duplex LC connection, with digital diagnostics. LevelOne positions it as a short-reach single-mode 2.5G optic for industrial environments. It is built to the SFP MSA, so it is not tied to one switch brand. In practice, single-mode optics are the choice when a link leaves the building or runs several hundred metres: the OS2 fibre used by carriers and campus backbones carries the signal for kilometres with little loss. Before you order, confirm the fibre is single-mode at both ends and note the length and the number of patch panels on the way.

Compatibility — check before buying:
It needs a switch port that supports 2.5G optics. LevelOne does not publish a 1 Gbps mode, so do not plan it for a 1G-only SFP port or expect it to link to a 1G module. It reaches only 2 km; for longer industrial links the SFP-2603 reaches 20 km. Keep the dust cap on until you connect the fibre, and clean both connector ends before every mating — dirt is the most common cause of a link that will not come up. Not sure? Frequently Asked Questions

Will it work in a 1G SFP port?
LevelOne publishes it as a 2.5 Gbps module and lists no 1 Gbps mode. Both ends of the link and the switch ports must support 2.5G optics. Send us the switch model and we check it.
Is 2 km enough for my link?
Measure the full run, including patch panels. Up to 2 km, the SFP-2602 is the right module; beyond that, the SFP-2603 reaches 20 km with the same industrial rating.
Are fibre patch cords included?
No. You get the SFP-2602 module, a Quick Installation Guide and a Declaration of Conformity. The patch cord for the Duplex LC connector, a matching module for the far end of the link and a fibre cleaning tool are bought separately. Tell us the distance and the fibre type and we quote the right cord.
Will it work in a switch from another brand?
LevelOne builds its modules to the SFP MSA and does not code them for one switch brand. Switches that lock out third-party optics may refuse them — send us the model and we check it.
