The Lindy 38519 is a wired HDMI over IP streaming encoder that compresses an HDMI source using H.264 or H.265 for supported streaming workflows. It supports up to 3840 × 2160 at 60Hz, and its HDMI loop output can feed a local display with the same source. It is an encoder only, not a decoder, recorder or USB capture device.

Streams are compressed; HDMI 2.0b at 18Gbps describes the input interface, not network bitrate. Not every stream mode supports 4K60. A compatible account/platform and ingest settings, network bandwidth, routing/firewall/multicast configuration and playback endpoint may be needed. Paid services, subscriptions and streaming rights are not included. Protected content must be compatible and lawfully streamed; HDCP 2.2/1.4 support does not bypass DRM or grant rebroadcast permission. What It Means in Practice
- Connect an HDMI source to HDMI IN; HDMI OUT is a loop output for a local display of that same source. HDMI cables and the display are not listed as included.
- Connect the RJ45 port to a wired network. The stated 100m maximum applies to a suitable Cat6/6A/7 copper link, not to internet distance or wireless range.
- Choose power from a compatible standard 802.3af PoE switch/injector or the included 12V 1A adapter; it does not use USB bus power. Choose the adapter plug required for your location.
- The main stream supports H.264/H.265 up to 4K60, while the documented secondary options are H.264 up to 1080p30 and JPEG 1280 × 720 at 5Hz; configure stream modes and bitrate for the intended workflow.
What Will Not Work
- No Wi-Fi and no USB bus power.
- No IR, CEC or serial control support; no KVM keyboard/mouse backchannel.
- Not a hardware decoder, USB capture dongle, camera or recorder with storage.
- Not an uncompressed transport device; 4K120, 8K and guaranteed lossless video are not supported claims.
- The stereo LPCM audio capability is not an Atmos/7.1 decoder, built-in speaker or microphone preamp. Analogue audio embedding does not replace the original audio on the HDMI loop output.
- HDCP 2.2/1.4 support is not DRM bypass or permission to rebroadcast protected content.
- Ventilation is required for indoor operation within 0–40°C and 20–90% RH, non-condensing.
