Lindy 32695 HDMI 8K60 Signal Analyzer — See What Is Actually on the Cable
HDMI 2.1, 40 GbpsUp to 8K60 4:2:0 10-bitHDCP 2.3Built-in LCD readout
The Lindy 32695 HDMI 8K60 Signal Analyzer is a pocket-sized diagnostic stick for AV installers. Plug its HDMI male connector into a source, a wall plate or the far end of a run, power it from USB-C, and its built-in LCD reports what signal is really present: resolution, signal format, colour space, bit depth and how much of the available bandwidth is being used. It is the tool you reach for when a screen goes black and you need to prove whether the source, the cable or the display is at fault.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is an analyser, not a generator. It has a single HDMI Type A male connector and a USB-C socket, so it terminates the signal — you plug it in instead of the display, not in-line while the display keeps working. If you need a known-good source to test a screen or an extender, that is the Lindy 32696 Signal Generator, one digit away and the opposite function. The unit is bus-powered at 5 V 1.5 A from USB-C, so on site you need a USB power bank or a host port; no charger is supplied, only two USB-C to USB-A cables. Lindy publishes no EDID, CEC or HDR functions for the 32695, so do not plan to use it as an EDID reader — Lindy sells a separate 8K60 EDID Emulator for that.
Best For
✓ AV installers commissioning 8K and 4K HDMI runs
✓ Proving whether a source, a cable or a display is at fault
✓ Checking that an extender really passes the format it claims
✓ Verifying HDCP 2.3 negotiation on a new install
✓ Service engineers who need an answer without a laptop
✓ Integrators handing over a system with evidence rather than opinion
Key Features
Reads FRL and TMDS up to 40 Gbps
Covers both HDMI signalling schemes, so the same stick works on legacy TMDS links and on HDMI 2.1 fixed rate link signals up to 40 Gbps, with resolutions to 8K60 4:2:0 10-bit and colour depth to 12-bit in RGB or YUV.
Bandwidth utilisation on screen
The LCD does not only name the resolution — it shows how much of the available bandwidth the signal is using, which is what tells you whether a marginal cable is about to fail rather than whether it has already failed.
Automatic detection and recording
Signal detection is automatic and the analyser records what it sees, so a run can be tested and the result read back rather than watched live on a ladder.
Audio format identification
Identifies LPCM 7.1, Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio, so an audio complaint can be traced to the format actually arriving.

Singular Expert Insight
If you install HDMI for a living, this is the stick that ends arguments. The value is not that it names the resolution — a TV does that — it is the bandwidth utilisation readout, which shows how close a link is running to its limit and therefore why an installation works in the morning and drops out in the afternoon. Two things to be clear about before ordering: it is an analyser with a male plug, so it replaces the display rather than sitting in line, and it is one digit away from the 32696 generator, which does the opposite job. Most installers end up owning both. It pairs with the displays and extenders it is used to test.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You commission or service HDMI installations and need to prove, on site and without a laptop, exactly what format and how much bandwidth is arriving on a given cable.
Skip it if
You need a test source rather than a test meter, or you need EDID reading and emulation. Those are the Lindy 32696 generator and the Lindy 8K60 EDID Emulator respectively.
Also consider
The Lindy 32696 HDMI 8K30 Signal Generator so you can test in both directions, and a small USB power bank to run either of them on site.
