LogiLink UA0096 — ten mains-powered USB 2.0 ports on a 190 mm bar

10 x USB-A5 V / 3.5 A adapter includedOver-current protectionSelf-powered operation

The LogiLink UA0096 is a 190 mm bar with ten USB 2.0 ports and its own 5 V / 3.5 A mains adapter. LogiLink publishes it as self-powered only, which is the point: the ports never have to survive on whatever a single computer socket can spare, so devices stop dropping off when the eighth one is plugged in. Over-current detection and protection are built in, status LEDs show what is live, and a 100 cm cable gives room to place it wherever the cables actually arrive.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Every port here is USB 2.0 at up to 480 Mbps, shared across all ten — a modern SSD or flash drive will mount and work but at a fraction of its speed, so this is a hub for peripherals, not for storage. It is self-powered only: LogiLink does not publish bus-powered operation, so the supplied adapter is part of the product and has to travel with it. There are no on/off switches on this model — if you want to power devices down individually, look at the UA0125 or a hub with per-port switches. LogiLink does not publish a per-port current limit, so if you plan to charge phones or tablets from it, tell us the devices and we will check.

Best For

✓ Benches and rigs with a lot of small devices
✓ Reception, POS and scanner installations
✓ Licence and security dongles that stay plugged in
✓ Keyboards, mice and wireless receivers
✓ Test and QA setups that need many ports at once
✓ Anyone who has run out of ports on a desktop

Key Features

Ten ports fed from the wall
The supplied 5 V / 3.5 A adapter is what makes ten ports realistic: LogiLink publishes this hub as self-powered, so the current comes from the mains rather than from the computer’s single socket.

Over-current protection built in
LogiLink publishes over-current detection and protection, so a faulty or shorted device on one port is isolated rather than being allowed to bring down the host.

A metre of cable and a long body
A 190 mm housing on a 100 cm cable, so the hub can sit where the peripherals are rather than being tethered to the back of the machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my external SSD run at full speed on this hub?
No. These are USB 2.0 ports, capped at 480 Mbps and shared between all ten, so an SSD that would manage several hundred megabytes per second on a USB 3.0 port will be roughly twenty times slower here. It will still mount and work — this is a speed limit, not a compatibility problem — but if storage is the reason for the hub, choose a 5 Gbps model and keep this one for peripherals.
Can I use it without the power adapter?
LogiLink publishes this hub as self-powered only, so treat the adapter as part of the product rather than an optional extra. That is also what makes ten ports workable: a single computer USB socket cannot feed ten devices, which is why unpowered hubs start dropping devices as you fill them.
Does it have switches to turn individual ports off?
Not this model — the UA0096 has status LEDs but no switches. If you need to power devices on and off one at a time, the LogiLink UA0125 adds a master on/off switch for the whole hub, and other models in our range offer a switch per port. Tell us how you want to control it and we will point you at the right one.
Singular Expert Insight
Ten ports and USB 2.0 belong together. At 480 Mbps shared, this hub is built for the long tail of devices on a desk or bench — keyboards, mice, receivers, scanners, dongles, serial adapters, test hardware — none of which has ever come close to filling that bandwidth. Where it is the wrong tool is storage: copying to USB flash drives or running an external drive wants one of the 5 Gbps models in our USB hub range. Within LogiLink’s own line the distinction worth knowing is control: the UA0096 has no switches, the UA0125 adds a single master on/off switch, and the UA0126 stretches to thirteen ports with a published 500 mA per port. All three ship with a 5 V / 3.5 A supply, so the choice is about port count and switching, not about power.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You need a lot of ports for low-speed devices and you want them mains-powered so nothing drops out. You are connecting keyboards, mice, receivers, scanners and dongles rather than fast storage. You want over-current protection between a bench full of hardware and the host machine.

Skip it if

You are plugging in an external SSD or drive and care about speed — USB 2.0 shared across ten ports is the wrong hub. You want switches to control ports individually. You need a hub that can run bus-powered from a laptop without the mains adapter.

Also consider

LogiLink UA0125 if you want the same ten ports with a master on/off switch. LogiLink UA0126 if thirteen ports and a published per-port current suit you better. A 5 Gbps powered hub if any of the devices are storage.
