LogiLink UA0184A — affordable Gigabit Ethernet for USB-A laptops and PCs
USB 3.0 Type-A1x RJ45 Gigabit9 KB jumbo framesBlack
The LogiLink UA0184A is a USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet adapter that adds a 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 port to any laptop or desktop with a USB Type-A port. It is an economical way to get a wired connection on thin notebooks without a network socket, or to give a desktop a second network port without opening the case.
LogiLink specifies IEEE 802.3, 802.3u and 802.3ab compliance, automatic speed detection, full and half duplex, auto-MDIX, and jumbo frames up to 9 KB for large file transfers. The black plastic housing is double shielded and the connectors are nickel-plated.
LogiLink lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10, Linux and Mac OS 10.3 or later.
Before you order: Full Gigabit speed needs a USB 3.0 port. On USB 2.0 the adapter works, but throughput is limited by USB 2.0. Windows 11 is not in LogiLink's published list.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a driver?
Windows 10, macOS and Linux usually recognise USB Gigabit adapters automatically. If not, drivers are available from LogiLink.
Why is my speed below 1 Gbps?
Make sure it is in a USB 3.0 port (blue or SS-marked), connected to a Gigabit switch port with a Cat5e or better cable.
Will it work on USB-C?
Only through a USB-C to USB-A adapter. For USB-C laptops, a USB-C Ethernet adapter is simpler.
Do I need a network cable?
Yes, the cable is not included. Any Cat5e or Cat6 patch cable works.
