Manhattan 178495: wireless 1D entry with a charging base
1D CCDUp to 500 scans/s80 m line of sightUSB base kit
The Manhattan 178495 is a wireless linear CCD scanner for everyday 1D barcode entry at a PC workstation. It sends decoded characters to the active application like keyboard input and includes a receiver/recharge base, power adapter with EU/US/UK/AU plugs, power cable, RJ50-to-USB cable and manual. It needs a host and suitable receiving software to use the codes; it is not a standalone stock terminal. Up to 80 m is the wireless line-of-sight distance, while up to 500 mm is the optical scan depth.
Before you order:
Use this model for supported linear 1D codes, not QR or Data Matrix. The included host connection is USB; alternative KBW/RS-232 connections need suitable cabling and configuration. Confirm the host keyboard layout and application before deployment.
What's in the Box
- 1 × wireless linear CCD scanner and 1 × receiver/recharge base.
- 1 × power adapter with EU, US, UK and AU interchangeable plugs.
- Power cable, RJ50-to-USB cable and user manual.
What It Means in Practice
- Connect the base and power, charge the scanner, pair it following the programming guide and test a label in the intended application field.
- For receiving cartons, scan each 1D label and let the host application associate the value with its product record. The scanner does not supply prices or stock records.
- An out-of-range buffer holds up to 3000 scans. Configure and test data transfer and duplicates before relying on offline collection.
What Will Not Work
- QR and other 2D codes require a 2D imager.
- The 80 m line-of-sight figure does not guarantee coverage through walls or between aisles.
