MediaRange MR1951 — 16 GB USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive, Swivel Housing
16 GB capacityUSB-C plug onlyRead 50 / write 15 MB/sexFAT — large files welcome
The MediaRange MR1951 is a 16 GB USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive with a single USB-C plug, an aluminium swivel over a silver-and-black ABS body, 56 x 18 x 10 mm and about 12 g. It exists for the devices the old USB-A sticks cannot touch: modern laptops with only USB-C ports, Android phones and tablets, and iPads with USB-C. MediaRange sells it under part number MR1951 and EAN 4260664879435 and publishes up to 50 MB/s read and 15 MB/s write for this 16 GB size — several times the speed of its USB 2.0 sticks, so a photo folder copies in moments and a full 16 GB writes in about 18 minutes. It ships exFAT, so single files larger than 4 GB are fine. Tell us which device it is for and we will confirm the port and the format before you order.
Compatibility — check before buying:
There is only a USB-C plug — no USB-A. It works in any USB-C port on a laptop, Android phone or tablet, or a USB-C iPad; it does NOT fit a USB-A port on an older PC, TV, printer or car radio unless you add a USB-C to USB-A adapter. If you need both ports without an adapter, choose a dual-plug drive instead. It ships exFAT pre-formatted: Windows, macOS, Linux and Android read it, but some older TVs and car radios only read FAT32, so reformat if such a device rejects it. The 32 GB MR1952 is the fastest published size of this series at 70 / 20 MB/s; the -1 through -5 suffixes are capacities, not packs.

Key Features
Made for USB-C devices
One USB-C plug goes straight into a modern laptop, Android phone, tablet or USB-C iPad. No adapter, no dongle — but also no USB-A, so check your other devices.
Real USB 3 speed
MediaRange publishes up to 50 MB/s read and 15 MB/s write for the 16 GB. That is roughly three to four times a USB 2.0 stick: a full 16 GB writes in about 18 minutes instead of an hour.
Aluminium swivel, exFAT out of the box
The metal clip rotates over the plug, so there is no cap to lose, and the exFAT format handles single files over 4 GB from day one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the MR1951 also have a USB-A plug?
No. It is USB-C only. Plug it into an older PC or TV only with a USB-C to USB-A adapter, or choose a dual-plug drive if you need both regularly.
Will it work with my phone?
With any Android phone or tablet that has a USB-C port and supports external storage, yes, and with USB-C iPads. Tell us the model and we will confirm.
Is the 32 GB faster?
Yes: MediaRange publishes 70 / 20 MB/s for the MR1952 32 GB against 50 / 15 for this 16 GB. If you copy video often, the 32 GB is worth the step.
Why does my old TV not read it?
It ships exFAT; some older TVs and car radios read only FAT32. Reformat it to FAT32 on a PC and it will work, with a 4 GB per-file limit.
Singular Expert Insight
This is the drive to buy when everything you own is USB-C and you never want to hunt for an adapter again. Within the series the 32 GB MR1952 is the sweet spot because MediaRange publishes a higher speed for it; the 16 GB MR1951 is right for documents and photos on a tight budget. If you still have USB-A devices at home or work, tell us and we will point you to a dual-plug drive instead.
