The MSI MEG X870E ACE MAX (part number 7E85-001R) is a flagship ATX motherboard for AMD socket AM5, supporting Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 desktop processors, and built for enthusiasts and creators who want maximum power delivery, storage and networking on one board.

An 18+2+1 Duet Rail power system with 110A smart power stages feeds the CPU through dual 8-pin connectors on an 8-layer server-grade PCB with 2 oz copper. Four DDR5 slots take up to 256GB, with overclocked speeds above 9000 MT/s and support for AMD EXPO and CUDIMM in clock-driver bypass mode.

Storage and I/O are extensive: five M.2 slots (two PCIe 5.0 x4 from the CPU), four SATA 6Gb/s ports, dual USB4 40Gbps Type-C, a front USB 20Gbps header, Marvell AQC113 10GbE plus Realtek 5GbE, and Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4. Audio comes from a Realtek ALC4082 codec with an ESS9219Q DAC/amp.

Compatibility note: Using a device in PCI_E3 halves M.2_1 to x2 (or disables M.2_1 when PCI_E3 is set to x4 in BIOS), and M.2_2 shares bandwidth with the rear USB4 ports. Ryzen 8500/8300 processors disable M.2_2 and reduce slot speeds. Onboard video outputs need a CPU with integrated graphics.
