The MSI MPG X870E CARBON MAX WIFI (part number 7E49-022R) is a high-end ATX motherboard for AMD socket AM5, supporting Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 desktop processors, aimed at gamers and creators who want X870E features without stepping up to a flagship board.

Its 18+2+1 Duet Rail power system, dual 8-pin CPU connectors and a server-grade PCB with 2 oz copper support high-core-count and X3D processors. Four DDR5 slots take up to 256GB with overclocked speeds above 9000 MT/s, AMD EXPO and CUDIMM support in clock-driver bypass mode.

For storage there are four M.2 slots, two of them PCIe 5.0 x4 from the CPU, plus four SATA ports. Networking combines Realtek 5GbE and 2.5GbE with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, and the rear panel carries two USB4 40Gbps Type-C ports, HDMI and a Realtek ALC4080 audio codec with optical S/PDIF.

Compatibility note: The M.2_2 slot shares bandwidth with the rear USB4 ports and is unavailable with Ryzen 8000 Series processors. PCIe 5.0 on the graphics and M.2 slots requires a Ryzen 9000 or 7000 CPU. Onboard video outputs need a processor with integrated graphics.
