MSI PRO A620AM-G EVO WIFI Motherboard, AMD A620A, AM5, Micro-ATX, 2× DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6E, 2.5G LAN
MSI PRO A620AM-G EVO WIFI — Affordable AM5 Micro-ATX Board with Wi-Fi 6E
The MSI PRO A620AM-G EVO WIFI (part number 7E96-001R) is a Micro-ATX motherboard with the AMD A620A chipset and AM5 socket for AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series processors. It brings two DDR5 slots, two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, pre-installed Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5G LAN — an entry-level way onto the AM5 platform.
It fits office PCs, home builds and budget gaming systems that run a Ryzen at stock settings. Two memory slots and two PCIe slots keep it simple: the right choice when you do not need overclocking, four DIMMs or a pile of expansion cards.
What's in the Box
- MSI PRO A620AM-G EVO WIFI motherboard with pre-installed Wi-Fi 6E / Bluetooth 5.3 module
- EZ Wi-Fi antenna
- 1 × SATA cable
- I/O shield
- 2 × EZ M.2 Clip II and EZ M.2 Clip II remover
- Quick installation guide and EU regulatory notice
What It Means in Practice
- Two DDR5 slots, up to 128 GB: JEDEC 4800–5600 MT/s, with EXPO up to 7200+ MT/s single-rank or 6400+ dual-rank. Buy a matched 2-module kit for dual channel.
- Two NVMe SSDs on PCIe 4.0 x4; with Ryzen 8500 or 8300 CPUs the second M.2 runs at x2.
- HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 (4K 60 Hz) work with Ryzen CPUs that have integrated graphics — most Ryzen 7000/9000 models do.
- A front USB-C (5 Gbps) header is on board for cases with a Type-C port.
What Will Not Work
- No AM4 processors and no DDR4 memory.
- The graphics slot is PCIe 4.0 x16, not 5.0, and there is no 10 Gbps USB on the rear.
- A620 is an entry chipset: no manual CPU multiplier overclocking — choose B650/B850 or X870 for that.
- Only two DIMM slots — upgrading later means replacing modules, not adding.
