NETGEAR MS305E
5× 2.5G Multi-GigPlus Web-ManagedVLAN · QoSFanless Metal
The NETGEAR MS305E is a 5-port 2.5 Gigabit "Plus" switch that adds a light layer of management to a compact, fanless metal box. Every port auto-negotiates 100 Mbps, 1G or 2.5G over standard cabling, and a simple web interface unlocks VLANs, QoS and port mirroring — giving you real control without the complexity or cost of a fully managed switch.
Compatibility — check before buying:
A great fit for a home office, creative desk or small business edge where a few devices need faster-than-Gigabit links and a little traffic control. Connect a NAS, a Multi-Gig PC and a Wi-Fi 6/6E access point, then use the browser-based tools to separate or prioritise traffic. The silent, fanless design sits happily on a desk or mounts on a wall.
Best For
✓NAS + workstation links faster than Gigabit
✓Wi-Fi 6/6E access point backhaul at 2.5G
✓Small offices needing basic VLAN segmentation
✓Desks and studios where fan noise is unwelcome
Key Features
Five 2.5G Multi-Gig Ports
5× 2.5GBASE-T ports auto-negotiate 100M / 1G / 2.5G over existing Cat5e/Cat6, giving an instant speed lift for NAS, PCs and access points.
Plus Web Management
A browser-based interface adds VLANs (port-based & 802.1Q), QoS, port mirroring, IGMP snooping and cable diagnostics — control you do not get on an unmanaged switch.
Fanless & Compact
A rugged metal chassis with no fan runs completely silent and cool, ideal for offices, studios and living spaces.
Simple Setup
Plug-and-play out of the box; open the web UI only when you want to configure VLANs or QoS. Desktop or wall-mount installation.

Singular Expert Insight
The MS305E hits a sweet spot we recommend often: you have a couple of 2.5G devices — a NAS, a Wi-Fi 6 AP — and you want them fast, but you also want the option to split off guest or IoT traffic later. The Plus web layer gives you exactly that headroom without paying for a full managed switch. Pair it with Cat6 cabling to hit a clean 2.5G, and when your needs outgrow five ports step across to a larger Multi-Gig switch. For a quiet, capable edge switch, it is an easy pick.
