The Owl Labs Expansion Mic (EXM100-1100) is a cardioid add-on microphone in charcoal that plugs into the Expansion Port of a Meeting Owl 3, Meeting Owl 4+ or Meeting Owl 5 Pro and extends its audio pickup to 8 m, for meeting rooms where people at the far end of the table are hard to hear.

On its own a Meeting Owl picks up voices up to about 5.5 m. Place the Expansion Mic further down the table — at least 1.5 m from the Owl, cable side facing it — and it adds 2.5 m of pickup in its direction, with voice equalisation, echo cancellation and background noise reduction. Its mute button syncs with the Owl, so one press mutes the whole room. Two Owls paired together, each with an Expansion Mic, can cover rooms up to 18 m end to end.

• Remote participants hear people at the far end of a long table as clearly as those next to the Owl.
• No extra power supply or software: it is powered and managed through the Meeting Owl.
• Mount it on the table with the bracket or adhesive strips to keep the cable tidy.
• The mute button on the mic and on the Owl stay in sync.

• Meeting Owl Pro and earlier Meeting Owl models are not supported.
• It does not connect to a PC, laptop or other conference system by USB — it needs a compatible Owl.
• The custom cable cannot be replaced or extended with third-party cables.
• The cable is 2.5 m, so the mic must sit within that distance of the Owl.
