Paper Mate Flair Original Felt Tip Pens — Medium, Black, 5 Pack
5 pens · blackMedium felt tipWater-based inkNo bleed-through
The Paper Mate Flair Original 2028909 is a blister of five black felt tip pens with a medium point and water-based ink — for everyday writing, note-taking, planners and forms where you want a bold, smooth line that does not bleed through the page.
Flair is the classic Paper Mate felt tip: the tip glides with very little pressure, and Paper Mate describes the ink as smudge- and fade-resistant, so handwriting stays crisp in notebooks and on documents you keep.
What's in the Box
- 5 Paper Mate Flair Original felt tip pens, medium point, black ink
- Blister pack
What It Means in Practice
- A felt tip writes with less pressure than a ballpoint — useful for long note-taking sessions or for people who find ballpoints tiring.
- Water-based ink does not bleed through ordinary paper, so you can write on both sides of notebook pages.
- Five pens in one pack: enough for a desk, a bag and a meeting room, or for a small team.
What Will Not Work
- Water-based ink is not permanent on glossy, plastic, glass or metal surfaces — use a permanent marker for those.
- It is not suited to carbon or self-copy forms that need pressure to transfer through several sheets — use a ballpoint.
- Paper Mate does not publish a line width in mm for the EU pack; if you need an exact width (e.g. for technical drawing), choose a fineliner with a stated width.
- This pack is black only; coloured Flair sets have different article numbers.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Flair is a good default pen for people who write a lot by hand: lighter on the hand than a ballpoint, bolder than a fineliner, and clean on both sides of the page. For forms with carbon copies keep a ballpoint nearby, and see our stationery range for notebooks, highlighters and markers.
✓ Buy it if you want a bold, smooth black pen for notes and planners that does not bleed through.
✕ Skip it if you need permanent ink on non-paper surfaces or a precise technical line width.
→ Also consider A STAEDTLER Lumocolor permanent pen for plastic, glass and film.
