Flat managed PoE+ access for wall and enclosure installations
8 × Gigabit PoE+Up to 200 W shared2 × 100/1000 SFPExternal 48–54 V DC
The PLANET WGS-4215-8P2S combines eight Gigabit PoE+ ports and two 100/1000BASE-X SFP uplinks in a flat industrial wall-mount design. Front-access connections help installation and maintenance inside suitable enclosures. Managed VLAN, QoS, access control and multicast features support organised camera, wireless and building networks.
Best For: Protected wall enclosures and industrial building networks needing compact managed PoE+ access.
Before you order: Select a separate appropriate 48–54 V DC supply. The shared PoE budget is up to 200 W and depends on available input power; eight 30 W loads exceed it. The terminal block and DC jack are alternative power interfaces and explicitly do not provide redundant-power failover. IP30 requires protection from water.
What's in the Box
- WGS-4215-8P2S and documentation access sheet.
- Manufacturer guide lists wall-mount kit, magnet kit, DIN-rail kit and three-pin terminal connector.
- Eight RJ45 dust caps and two SFP dust caps.
- External DC supply, SFP transceivers and network/fibre cables selected separately.
What It Means in Practice
- Connect up to eight Gigabit copper endpoints and power compatible IEEE 802.3af/at devices within the actual shared budget.
- Install compatible 100 or 1000 Mbps SFP modules for the two uplink cages.
- Choose fixed wall, magnetic wall or DIN-rail mounting suitable for the enclosure and cable access.
- Configure VLANs, QoS, LACP, spanning tree, ACLs and PoE controls for the actual network.
What Will Not Work
- Two power connectors do not provide redundant-power failover.
- No direct AC mains input or established included power supply.
- No 10G SFP+ uplinks or full Layer 3 routing function is established.
- The 200 W shared limit does not allow eight simultaneous standard 30 W loads.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it include a power supply?
No external supply is established in the package list. Choose suitable industrial 48–54 V DC power separately.
Do the two inputs provide failover?
No. The manufacturer explicitly states these two interfaces do not support redundant power.
Can all eight ports supply 30 W together?
No. That requires 240 W, exceeding the maximum shared 200 W budget.
Are the SFP uplinks 10G?
No. This model has two 100/1000BASE-X SFP interfaces.
Singular Expert Insight
Treat the switch and its external power supply as one installation design. Size actual PoE demand, switch overhead and the supply together, then plan the two Gigabit uplinks. The flat enclosure helps wall installations, but IP30 still needs environmental protection and dual connectors must not be mistaken for redundant power.
Buyer’s Guide
✓ Buy it if You need compact managed wall-mounted Gigabit PoE+ within a properly powered 200 W maximum budget.
✕ Skip it if You need included mains power, redundant input failover, 10G uplinks or waterproof installation.
