The PLANET POE-173 is a single-port Gigabit Ultra PoE injector that delivers up to 60 W over all four pairs of an Ethernet cable — 50 W of which is available at the powered device — for PTZ speed domes, thin clients, touch PCs and signage displays. It is the source to choose when one device needs more than a PoE+ (30 W) port can give, especially together with a PLANET Ultra PoE splitter.
Connect the switch to the LAN port, the device to the PoE port and the injector to the mains; the 100–240 V power supply is built in.
Before you order: PLANET specifies Ultra PoE over 4 pairs with backward compatibility for IEEE 802.3af/at devices; 802.3bt is not claimed in the specifications. Devices that require 802.3bt negotiation may be limited to PoE+ power — check with us before ordering for a bt-only device.

What It Means in Practice
- 50 W at the device covers PTZ domes with heaters, thin clients and all-in-one touch PCs that PoE+ cannot run.
- Paired with a PLANET POE-171S splitter, it can power a non-PoE device at 12, 19 or 24 V up to 100 m away.
- 802.3af/at devices still work and take only the power they need.
- Power and PoE LEDs show at a glance whether the device draws power.
What Will Not Work
- It does not deliver 90 W-class 802.3bt power.
- Devices that only accept 802.3bt Class 5–8 negotiation may stay at PoE+ power.
- No 2.5G/10G pass-through — 10/100/1000 Mbps only.
- It powers one device only.
