Dual-WAN routing and Wi-Fi 6 for a managed office
Wi-Fi 6 / AX24005× Gigabit RJ45Dual WAN / IPsec / OpenVPNWPA3-Personal / internal AC
The PLANET VR-300W6A combines Wi-Fi 6 AX2400, five Gigabit Ethernet ports and VPN routing in a blue metal enclosure. A configurable second WAN supports load balancing or failover, while SPI firewall, VLAN, captive portal and supported PLANET AP management provide tools for a configured office network. This is the non-PoE model, with WPA3-Personal wireless security.
Best For: Small offices and managed business networks needing wired Gigabit connections, dual-band wireless and configured remote or site-to-site VPN access.
Before you order: Internet service and suitable modem/ONT are separate. Dual WAN needs two upstream connections and uses the shared LAN/WAN port. AX2400 is a wireless class, not Internet or VPN throughput. The manufacturer lists up to 600 Mbps at 2.4 GHz or 2400 Mbps at 5 GHz; simultaneous operation is not established consistently in the documents. Configure compatible VPN peers and secure network policies.
What's in the Box
- VR-300W6A router, power cord and wireless antennas.
- Rack-mounting kit, four rubber feet and quick-installation guide access by QR code per manufacturer series guide.
- ISP service, modem/ONT, Ethernet patch cables, VPN peers and additional access points are separate.
What It Means in Practice
- Connect the primary WAN to your upstream modem or ONT and configure ISP requirements.
- Assign port 4 as LAN or a second WAN; enable load balancing or failover as appropriate.
- Configure separate wireless/network policies, supported VLANs and guest access for the intended environment.
- Set compatible IPsec or OpenVPN peers and test actual throughput with your encryption and traffic.
- Use USB 3.0 for documented configuration backup and restore, and retain protected backups.
What Will Not Work
- No PoE output, integrated cellular modem/SIM or SFP is specified for VR-300W6A. WPA3 support is Personal only.
- Manufacturer ceilings are up to 900 Mbps NAT and 60 Mbps VPN, not guaranteed simultaneous results.
- Dual-WAN load balancing does not combine two lines into a guaranteed faster single session.
- AP control requires supported PLANET models and compatible firmware; it is not universal AP management.
- The firewall and VPN need appropriate configuration and maintenance; no device guarantees complete protection.

Singular Expert Insight
Size a VPN router by encrypted throughput and required features, not just its Wi-Fi class or Ethernet link rate. The VR-300W6A offers useful dual-WAN and access-management tools, but the documented VPN ceiling is much lower than its Gigabit port speed. Test the intended VPN peers, policies and failover behaviour before deployment.
Buyer’s Guide
✓ Buy it if You need a managed Wi-Fi 6 office router with five Gigabit ports, dual-WAN options and moderate VPN requirements.
✕ Skip it if You require PoE output, integrated cellular or high-throughput encrypted VPN beyond this model’s rating.
→ Also consider ISP handoff, shared-port allocation, VPN load, compatible APs, firmware and secure configuration.
