The HP Poly Studio X72 (A4LZ8AA#ABB) is an all-in-one video bar for large meeting rooms with two 20 MP 4K cameras, Poly DirectorAI framing and microphones that pick up voices up to 7.6 m away, running Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms or Google Meet directly on the bar without a room PC.
The two lenses (wide and narrow) let the bar show the whole room and still cut to a speaker at the far end of the table. It drives two displays over HDMI, takes a wired HDMI input for content and connects with Gigabit Ethernet or Wi-Fi 6. Poly NoiseBlockAI and Acoustic Fence keep keyboard noise and conversations outside the meeting area out of the call.
Before you order: This is a room appliance, not a USB webcam on a laptop by default (it does have a USB Device mode). It needs a display, a meeting platform account or licence (Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms or Google Meet hardware licence) and mains power — it is not PoE powered. A touch controller (Poly TC8 or TC10) is sold separately.

What It Means in Practice
- Large rooms of about 8.5 × 4.6 m are covered: dual cameras for framing and microphones out to 7.6 m.
- DirectorAI switches between speaker, people and group framing automatically, so the far end sees who is talking rather than the whole table.
- Two HDMI outputs put people and content on separate displays (three in Zoom with a supported adapter).
- In USB Device mode the bar can also act as camera and audio for a laptop or room PC.
What Will Not Work
- It is not a Windows PC — Windows-only apps and Teams Rooms on Windows do not run on it.
- It will not power from PoE; the supplied AC adapter is required.
- No touch controller is included; plan a Poly TC8/TC10 or use the platform's own controls.
- A licence for the chosen platform is not included.

The X72 is the Studio X bar to choose when the room is too deep for a single wide camera: the second lens keeps far-end speakers readable. Add a touch controller and one or two commercial displays and the room is ready for Teams, Zoom or Meet.
✓ Buy it if you equip a large Teams, Zoom or Google Meet room and want one bar without a separate room PC.
✕ Skip it if the room is a small huddle space — the Poly Studio X32 or X52 is a better fit — or you need PoE power.
