Poly SupraPlus H261N — Binaural Quick Disconnect Headset with Pouch
Wideband audioOnly 86 g on the headNoise-cancelling microphoneCarry pouch included
The Poly SupraPlus H261N is a long-serving binaural office headset: 86 grams, an adjustable T-pad headband that spreads the weight across the top of the head, and a bendable click-stop microphone boom that holds its position instead of drifting. It ends in a Poly Quick Disconnect plug and ships with a carry pouch. Part number 7S444AA is the TAA-compliant binaural article.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The important point first: SupraPlus headsets need a Poly audio processor or a direct-connect cable to reach a phone or a computer, and that cable is not part of this headset. On its own the Quick Disconnect plug connects to nothing, so plan the bottom cable or amplifier at the same time as the headset. Tell us what it has to plug into — a desk phone model, or a PC over USB — and we will match the correct QD cable or processor to it on the same order. Note also that HP publishes several near-identical SupraPlus listings, including HW261N binaural dual variants in both TAA and non-TAA forms; quote 7S444AA and there is no ambiguity.
Best For
✓ Desk phone positions that already use Poly amplifiers
✓ Sites standardised on Poly Quick Disconnect
✓ Long shifts where a light headset matters
✓ Replacing an ageing SupraPlus fleet like for like
✓ TAA-compliant procurement
✓ Positions where the headset moves between people
Key Features
A headband built for hours
The adjustable T-pad headband spreads 86 grams across the crown rather than pinching at the sides, which is the reason the SupraPlus has stayed in service in contact centres for so long.
A boom that stays where you put it
The bendable click-stop microphone boom holds its shape, so the microphone sits the same distance from your mouth on Friday as it did on Monday.
Noise-cancelling microphone, wideband audio
Poly publishes wideband operation and a noise-cancelling microphone on this model, which is what keeps a neighbouring conversation out of your call.
Quick Disconnect, so the cable is the consumable
The QD plug means an agent can walk away without unplugging at the desk, and a worn cable is a cheap replacement rather than a new headset.

Singular Expert Insight
The SupraPlus is a design that has outlasted several generations of office telephony, and it survives for one reason: it is comfortable enough to forget. Nothing about it is modern — there is no USB connector, no active noise cancellation and no software — and that is exactly why it still gets specified for positions where the headset is worn for eight hours and plugged into a phone rather than a laptop. Just remember it is half a system: the bottom cable or amplifier completes it. Browse USB alternatives in Office & VoIP Headsets, or Headphones for lighter-duty options.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You already run Poly Quick Disconnect cables or amplifiers and need to add or replace headsets. Comfort over a long shift matters more than features. You need a TAA-compliant article.
Skip it if
You want something that works the moment it is unboxed on a laptop. You need active noise cancellation or a busylight. You need published driver and frequency figures for a tender.
Also consider
Poly EncorePro HW520D (783P5AA) for a newer binaural Quick Disconnect headset with published audio specifications. Poly Blackwire 5220 for a plain USB headset with nothing else to buy. Add a Quick Disconnect to USB adapter for computer use.
