Frequently Asked Questions

Does it connect to a regular RJ45 Ethernet port?
No. Both ends are SFP+ and require compatible SFP+ ports.
Is it enough for only one switch to be HP?
Both hosts must be checked. Ports need to support the cable, rate and coding, especially when connecting equipment from different vendors.
Does it provide the same diagnostics as an optical module?
The sheet describes a serial identification interface, but the passive assembly does not support LOS and Tx_Disable. Do not assume all optical transceiver functions are available.
