QNAP QGD-1600-4G Smart Switch and NAS Hybrid
16x Gigabit (non-PoE)Runs QTS + VMsCeleron J4115 · 4GB2x SFP combo

The QNAP QGD-1600-4G is a 16-port Gigabit smart switch and NAS in one device, powered by an Intel Celeron J4115 quad-core CPU with 4GB DDR4, running QTS so it can record surveillance, host virtual machines and serve storage at the network edge. It carries part number QGD-1600-4G (EAN 4711103084281) and is rack-mountable. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the non-PoE QGD-1600: it does not supply Power over Ethernet, so cameras and access points need their own power (the QGD-1600P is the PoE version). It is a switch-plus-NAS hybrid running QTS — install up to two 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA drives (sold separately) for recording, storage and virtual machines. The two combo ports are Gigabit RJ45/SFP (use either copper or a fibre module per port); SFP transceivers are sold separately. Switching is managed through QSS (QNAP Switch System) with VLAN and QoS, not full Layer 3 routing. It mounts in a 19-inch rack.

Best For

✓ Edge surveillance that combines a switch and NVR in one box
✓ Running virtual machines or containers beside the network
✓ SMB sites that want a switch plus NAS storage together
✓ VLAN segmentation and traffic control via QSS
✓ Fibre uplinks through the combo SFP ports
✓ Rack-mounted deployments

Key Features

Switch and NAS in One
Running QTS on a 16-port switch, it merges networking with storage: record cameras, share files and manage the network from a single rack device.

Celeron J4115 with 4GB DDR4
A quad-core Intel Celeron J4115 with 4GB of memory hosts virtual machines, containers and QNAP apps alongside switching, for real compute at the edge.

16 Gigabit Ports, 2 SFP Combo
Fourteen Gigabit RJ45 ports plus two RJ45/SFP combo ports provide flexible copper and fibre connectivity for devices and uplinks.

QSS Smart Management
The QNAP Switch System adds VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping and monitoring, giving practical control over traffic across the switch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the QGD-1600-4G supply PoE?
No. This is the non-PoE QGD-1600. If you need to power cameras or access points over the cable, choose the QGD-1600P, which is the PoE version.
Does it come with hard drives?
No. The two SATA bays are empty; add 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drives (sold separately) to use its NAS, recording and virtual-machine features.
Can it run virtual machines and NAS apps?
Yes. It runs QNAP QTS on an Intel Celeron J4115 with 4GB DDR4, hosting virtual machines, containers and QNAP applications alongside switching.
Is it a managed switch?
It is smart managed through QSS (QNAP Switch System), with VLANs, QoS and IGMP snooping. It is not a full Layer 3 routing switch.
Singular Expert Insight
The QGD-1600-4G collapses a switch and a NAS/NVR into one rack unit, so a small site can record cameras, run a VM and manage the LAN from a single box. Remember this is the non-PoE model — for Power over Ethernet choose the QGD-1600P; if you just need a plain switch, a standard managed switch is cheaper. For more memory and VM headroom, the QGD-1600-8G doubles the RAM. Browse more network switches or the IP cameras it can record.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want a switch and NAS/NVR combined in one rack device with compute (J4115, 4GB) for VMs and recording, and you do not need PoE from the switch.

Skip it if

You need the switch to power cameras or APs over Ethernet (choose the QGD-1600P), or you only want a plain managed switch without NAS features.

Also consider

The PoE version QNAP QGD-1600P for Power over Ethernet, or the QGD-1600-8G for double the memory (8GB) for heavier VM use.
