The Rackmount.IT RM-FR-T21 is a 19-inch rack mount kit that lets you install a desktop Fortinet FortiGate 50G or 40F series in a standard rack, with the appliance ports brought to keystones on the front panel. It is built for IT teams and MSPs who want the firewall to sit neatly in the comms cabinet instead of on a shelf or on top of other equipment.
Rackmount.IT designs each kit around one specific appliance family, so the tray, cut-outs and cable routing match the exact chassis. The kit is 1U high, 44 x 483 x 217 mm, finished in Signal White (RAL 9003), and Rackmount.IT quotes an assembly time of under three minutes. The Fortinet appliance itself is not included.
Before you order: Designed for the FortiGate 50G series (including 51G, 50G-5G, 50G-DSL and 50G-SFP variants) and the 40F series. FortiWiFi models fit physically, but the kit has no WiFi antenna provision.

- Not included: the Fortinet appliance, its power supply, and rack screws or cage nuts for fixing the kit to your rack (use the ones supplied with your cabinet)
What It Means in Practice
- The FortiGate ports are connected to keystones on the front panel, so patching is done from the front of the rack.
- If you use the DSL version, the SFP keystone can be swapped for an RJ45 keystone and connected with the supplied cable.
- The appliance is fixed with two screws after removing its rubber feet, and the cables are bundled with Velcro straps.
- The firewall occupies a single rack unit next to your switch.
What Will Not Work
- FortiWiFi models: they fit, but there is no provision for the WiFi antennas.
- FortiGate 60F/70F/70G, 80F, 90G or Rugged 60F - these use other Rackmount.IT kits.
- Fibre patch cables for SFP connections are not included.
- It does not add ports - the keystones only extend the ports your FortiGate already has.
