The Rackmount.IT RM-FR-T10 is a 19-inch rack mount kit that lets you install a desktop Fortinet FortiGate 60E, 60F, 61E, 61F, 70F, 71F, 70G or 71G in a standard rack, with all network ports brought to RJ45 couplers on the front panel and the external power brick fixed to the tray. It is built for IT teams and MSPs who want the firewall to sit neatly in the comms cabinet instead of on a shelf or on top of other equipment.
Rackmount.IT designs each kit around one specific appliance family, so the tray, cut-outs and cable routing match the exact chassis. The kit is 1U high, 44 x 482 x 217 mm, finished in Signal White (RAL 9003), and Rackmount.IT quotes an assembly time of under three minutes. The Fortinet appliance itself is not included.
Before you order: This kit is made for the desktop FortiGate 60E, 60F, 61E, 61F, 70F, 71F, 70G and 71G families (plus the matching FortiWiFi models). The FortiGate 80F, 40F/50G, 90G and the Rugged 60F each use a different Rackmount.IT kit - check the model on your appliance label first.
What's in the Box

- 12 x network cables, 0.5 m (appliance ports to front couplers)
- 2 x M3 x 6 mm bolts to fix the FortiGate to the tray
- 5 x zip ties for the power supply and cable bundle
- Not included: the Fortinet appliance, its power supply, and rack screws or cage nuts for fixing the kit to your rack (use the ones supplied with your cabinet)
What It Means in Practice
- All FortiGate network ports appear on the front of the rack, so patching is done from the front like on a switch - you do not need to reach behind the firewall.
- The power brick is tied down on the tray, so nothing hangs loose behind the rack and the appliance cannot be pulled off by its cables.
- The whole firewall occupies exactly 1U, which keeps it next to your patch panel and switch in small comms cabinets.
- Fitting takes two bolts and a few short cable connections - nothing has to be removed from the FortiGate.
What Will Not Work
- FortiGate 80F/81F, 40F, 50G, 90G/91G or FortiGate Rugged 60F - these need RM-FR-T15, RM-FR-T21, RM-FR-T20 or RM-FR-T16 respectively.
- FortiWiFi models physically fit, but the kit has no antenna provision - you may need SMA extension cables (not included) to route the antennas.
- It does not add ports or bypass functions - the front couplers only mirror the ports your FortiGate already has.
- It is not a shelf for other brands; the cut-outs are shaped for these Fortinet chassis only.
