The Rackmount.IT RM-WG-T7 (WG-Rack) is a 19-inch rack mount kit for the WatchGuard Firebox T80 and T85 desktop firewalls, turning a desktop appliance into a clean 1U rack installation with its network and console ports brought to the front panel.

WatchGuard's T80 and T85 are desktop units without rack ears. Rackmount.IT's kit holds one firewall, fixes its external power supply inside the kit and routes ten connections to the front through RJ45 couplers, including the console port. The front plate is finished in WatchGuard Red so the unit is easy to identify in a mixed cabinet.

Before you order: Fits the Firebox T80 and T85 (including T85-PoE) only. Other Firebox T-series models (T10/T15, T20/T25, T40/T45, T70) have their own Rackmount.IT kits.

What It Means in Practice

  • One firewall per kit, in a little more than 1U (46 mm) of rack space.
  • LAN, WAN and console are patched from the front, so you do not need to reach behind the cabinet.
  • The power brick is fixed inside the kit instead of lying loose on a shelf.
  • Rackmount.IT quotes about five minutes for assembly.

What Will Not Work

  • WatchGuard Firebox T70, T40/T45, T20/T25 or T10/T15 — they need different kits.
  • WatchGuard M-series rack appliances — they are already rack-mountable.
  • Wall cabinets shallower than about 22 cm usable depth (the kit is 217 mm deep).
  • Two firewalls side by side — this kit holds one unit.
