ICY BOX IB-HUB1425-C3 — Slim USB-C Hub with Four USB-A Ports
4 x USB-A at 5 Gbps10 mm thick, 41 gRealtek RTS541120 cm integrated cable
The ICY BOX IB-HUB1425-C3 connects to a USB-C port and returns four full-size USB-A sockets at up to 5 Gbps. It is the slim one in ICY BOX’s four-port range: 100 x 30 x 10 mm and 41 g, with a published 20 cm integrated cable and a named Realtek RTS5411 controller inside. The housing combines aluminium with plastic and is finished in silver.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The plug is USB-C, so a machine with only USB-A ports needs a different model. Despite the “Type-C” in the name, the four downstream sockets are USB-A — the Type-C refers to the connector that goes into the computer. The hub is bus-powered through that USB-C port, with no external supply and no charging input, so keyboards, mice, dongles, flash drives and one bus-powered SSD are the right load; two spinning hard drives are not. There is no video output and no Ethernet. ICY BOX lists Windows and macOS for this model and does not name Linux — the hardware is a standard hub, but if a formal Linux listing matters for your sign-off, the IB-HUB1409-C3 is the one that has it.
Best For
✓ USB-C laptops that still need standard USB-A sockets
✓ Laptop bags and sleeves — 10 mm thick and 41 g
✓ Keyboards, mice, wireless receivers and dongles
✓ Flash drives and card readers
✓ One bus-powered external SSD at full 5 Gbps
✓ Fleets that need a named controller for compatibility testing
Key Features
Four USB-A from one USB-C port
The plain conversion that most modern laptops need. Existing keyboards, receivers and flash drives keep working without an adapter on every cable.
Genuinely slim
100 x 30 x 10 mm at 41 g. Ten millimetres is thin enough to slide into a laptop sleeve alongside the machine rather than taking up space in the bag.
Named controller
ICY BOX publishes the chip: a Realtek RTS5411. That is worth something in a managed environment, where a known controller means a driver and a compatibility test you can repeat later.
Published 20 cm cable
A stated cable length, integrated rather than detachable. Twenty centimetres is enough to bring the hub round to the front of a laptop without leaving a loop of slack on the desk.

Singular Expert Insight
ICY BOX gives several of its four-port hubs the same product title, so the part number is what to trust. The 1425-C3 is the slim one, and slim is genuinely the point: at 10 mm it disappears into a laptop sleeve, which the chunkier 1409-C3 does not. It is also the one with a published controller, which matters more than it sounds if you have to certify a hub across a fleet. The boundary is the usual one for bus-powered hubs — ideal for flash drives, receivers and one external SSD, and no substitute for a docking station once a monitor or a network socket enters the picture.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want four USB-A ports from a USB-C laptop in the thinnest hub that will still take a real cable, with the controller published.
Skip it if
Skip it if your computer has no USB-C port, if the laptop must charge through the hub, or if you need a formal Linux listing on the manufacturer sheet.
Also consider
ICY BOX IB-HUB1409-C3 for the all-aluminium body with an LED and Linux listed, or a USB-C docking station if video and Ethernet are needed.
