The Rittal DK 7856.080 is a PSM (Power System Module) socket module with six IEC 320 C13 outlets that locks into a Rittal PSM busbar, for data centres and server rooms that want to change rack power outlets without rewiring.

The PSM system separates the power rail from the outlets: the busbar is fitted vertically in the rack and fed once, and socket modules click into any free slot. Modules can be locked in or released while the system is live, and Rittal designs the system as shock-hazard protected plug-and-play, so outlets can be added or re-arranged by IT staff. This version has no integrated fuse — choose DK 7856.070 if you want 10 A thermal overload protection on the module.

Before you order: This is a module only. It needs a Rittal PSM busbar (for example DK 7856.010, 1200 mm, 4 module slots) with its infeed connection. It does not plug into a wall socket, a standard PDU or a UPS.

  • No fuse on the module: overcurrent protection has to come from the busbar infeed or the upstream circuit.

What Will Not Work

  • Will not work without a Rittal PSM busbar and infeed — it has no cable or plug of its own.
  • C19 devices (high-power servers, blade chassis) and Schuko plugs do not fit.
  • No metering, switching or remote monitoring.
  • No built-in overload protection — do not use it where you need per-module fusing (see 7856.070).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between 7856.080 and 7856.070?
Both have 6 × C13. The 7856.070 has an integrated 10 A thermal overload fuse protecting all six sockets; the 7856.080 has none.
Can I use it in a non-Rittal rack?
The module only works on the Rittal PSM busbar. The busbar itself can be retrofitted to Rittal TS/PS racks with a mounting kit — ask us for other cabinets.
Does it come with a power cord?
No. Power comes from the PSM busbar, which is fed via its own infeed cable.
