The Rittal DK 7980.100 is a fan expansion kit: a single 119 x 119 x 25 mm, 230 V fan with a 0.61 m connection cable and assembly parts, used to add an extra fan to a Rittal fan unit or fan mounting plate. It is meant for IT and network cabinets that already use Rittal fan hardware and need more air movement.
At 50 Hz Rittal rates it at 108 m³/h with 14 W power draw and a noise level of 34 dB(A). At 60 Hz the figures are 120 m³/h and 12 W. It works from -20 to +70 °C.
Before you order: This is an expansion fan, not a complete ventilation unit. It is designed to add to existing Rittal fan hardware. Send us the Rittal part number of your fan unit or mounting plate and we will confirm that this kit fits it.

What It Means in Practice
- One more fan in an existing Rittal fan plate raises the air flow through the cabinet by about 108 m³/h at 50 Hz.
- 34 dB(A) is quiet enough for most offices and comms rooms.
- It runs straight from 230 V mains, so no separate power supply is needed.
- The 0.61 m cable is short, so plan where it connects inside the cabinet.
What Will Not Work
- It is not a stand-alone 19-inch fan tray. It has no rack mounting frame of its own.
- It does not include a thermostat or speed control.
- It will not run from 12 V, 24 V or 48 V DC supplies. It is a 230 V AC fan.
- It is not a filter fan for the cabinet door or side panel.
