RIVACASE 8530 Tiergarten — 16″ Laptop Bag in Water-Resistant Polyester
Fits 16″ laptopsRemovable shoulder strapContrasting silver lining0.805 kg
The RIVACASE 8530 is the 16-inch member of the Tiergarten collection, a business laptop bag with a padded compartment measuring 400 x 285 x 40 mm and a separate tablet pocket for devices up to 10.1 inches. The shell is water-resistant polyester and the interior is finished in a contrasting silver lining, which makes cables, pens and cards visible at a glance instead of disappearing into a black cavity. Two external accessory pockets take business cards and a phone, a trolley strap slides the bag over a suitcase handle, and the removable adjustable shoulder strap has an anti-slip shoulder pad. The zips, hardware and carabiners are custom metal fittings. Our product code for this item is 8530 BLACK. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Laptop size is 16 inch. RIVACASE rates the 8530 at 16″ with a laptop pocket of 400 x 285 x 40 mm. Retailer listings disagree with the manufacturer and with each other — one describes it as “up to 17.3″” and another as “15.6″–16″”. The manufacturer figure is 16 inch. The Tiergarten collection is not an ECO line — unlike RIVACASE’s Tegel, Suzuka, Sherwood and Clark collections, the 8530 carries no rPET or recycled-material claim. Do not assume recycled content from the brand’s other ranges. Tablet: up to 10.1 inches, so a 12.9″ iPad Pro will not fit that pocket. Volume: RIVACASE publishes no litre figure; use the external dimensions of 420 x 295 x 65 mm. Not published: no chest strap, no compression straps, no USB port, no RFID pocket, no rain cover, no lockable zips, no reflective elements, no key strap and no side water-bottle pockets.
Best For
✓ Carrying a 16″ work laptop with documents to the office
✓ Business use where a briefcase looks better than a backpack
✓ Travel where the bag slides onto a trolley handle
✓ Anyone tired of hunting for a cable in a black-lined bag
Key Features
Sized for a 16-inch machine
The padded laptop compartment measures 400 x 285 x 40 mm inside a 420 x 295 x 65 mm bag, with a document section alongside it and a separate tablet pocket for devices up to 10.1 inches.
Contrasting silver interior
The lining is a light silver rather than black-on-black, so a cable, a pen or a business card is visible at a glance. It sounds cosmetic and turns out to be the thing people mention after living with the bag.
Metal fittings throughout
RIVACASE specifies custom zippers, metal hardware and carabiners rather than moulded plastic. The zip and the strap clips are the components most likely to fail first on a bag at this price.
Three ways to carry
Padded handles for short distances, a removable and adjustable shoulder strap with an anti-slip pad for the commute, and a trolley strap on the back for sliding the bag over a wheeled suitcase.

Singular Expert Insight
Tiergarten is RIVACASE’s straightforward business line, and the 8530 is its most commonly needed size now that 16-inch laptops have largely replaced 15.6-inch ones. Two details lift it above the generic. The contrasting silver lining is genuinely practical — finding a small item in a black-lined bag is a daily irritation this design removes. And the metal zips, hardware and carabiners matter more than they sound, because plastic zip pulls and clips are what fail on cheaper bags long before the fabric does. Be clear on two points. Tiergarten is not one of RIVACASE’s recycled collections, so if rPET content is on your requirements list, the Tegel or Clark ranges are where to look. And retailer listings for this model disagree wildly on the screen size — the manufacturer says 16 inch, and the 400 x 285 x 40 mm laptop pocket confirms it. Browse our full range of laptop bags and cases, and consider a docking station so the laptop is the only thing that travels.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You carry a 16-inch laptop and want a plain, smart briefcase-style bag with metal fittings, a removable shoulder strap, a trolley strap and an interior you can actually see into.
Skip it if
You want recycled fabric, a tablet pocket bigger than 10.1 inches, a published volume figure, or a 17.3-inch compartment — that is the 8550 in the same collection.
Also consider
The RIVACASE 8550 for a 17.3-inch laptop or the 8630 for 15.6 inches, both Tiergarten. For a 16-inch bag in recycled rPET, the Clark 8134 is the alternative.
