RØDE Lavalier GO — professional-grade lapel microphone for Wireless GO and cameras
Omnidirectional condenser3.5 mm TRSPlug-in powerKevlar-reinforced cable
The RØDE Lavalier GO is a black, professional-grade lavalier (lapel) microphone with an omnidirectional condenser capsule and a 3.5 mm TRS plug, designed for the RØDE Wireless GO series and equally at home on cameras, recorders and computers with a TRS mic input.
Clipped to a shirt or jacket, it keeps the microphone at a constant distance from the speaker's mouth, so interviews, vlogs, presentations and video calls sound consistent even when the person turns their head. The 4.5 mm capsule is powered by plug-in power from the device — there is no battery to replace — and the 1.2 m Kevlar-reinforced cable is built to survive daily use. A LAV-CLIP with cable management and a pop shield come in the box.
Before you order: The plug is TRS (camera/recorder type). Most smartphones and tablets use TRRS or USB-C/Lightning and need an adapter such as the RØDE SC4 or a manufacturer audio adapter — not included.
What's in the Box
- Lavalier GO microphone (black)
- LAV-CLIP mounting clip with cable management
- Pop shield
- Pouch
What It Means in Practice
- Plug into a RØDE Wireless GO transmitter for a discreet wireless lapel setup.
- On a camera or field recorder it plugs straight into the 3.5 mm mic input that provides plug-in power.
- Omnidirectional pickup means placement is forgiving — the voice stays even if the mic is not pointed exactly at the mouth.
- Use the pop shield outdoors or with close placement to reduce plosives and light wind.
What Will Not Work
- Phones and tablets with a TRRS jack need a TRS-to-TRRS adapter (e.g. RØDE SC4).
- USB-C or Lightning-only devices need an audio adapter, or a digital lav such as the RØDE Lavalier II/AI-Micro.
- XLR inputs and devices without plug-in power cannot power it.
- It is not wireless by itself — pair it with a wireless transmitter for that.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I plug it into my iPhone or Android phone?
Not directly. Phones use TRRS, USB-C or Lightning — you need an adapter such as the RØDE SC4 (TRS to TRRS) or the phone maker's audio adapter.
Does it need a battery?
No. It runs on plug-in power supplied by the camera, recorder or Wireless GO transmitter.
Is it the same as the white Lavalier GO?
Same microphone in a different colour; the white version is a separate item.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A lav mic is the single biggest audio upgrade for interviews and talking-head video, because it keeps the voice close and steady. Lavalier GO is the natural partner for a Wireless GO kit; just check whether your camera or phone takes TRS or needs an adapter. More options in our
Microphones category.
✓ Buy it if you use a RØDE Wireless GO, a camera or recorder with a 3.5 mm mic input and want clear, discreet speech.
✕ Skip it if you record directly into a USB-C phone or computer without adapters.
→ Also consider a USB-C lavalier or a wireless microphone kit for phone-only recording.
