The Samsung CLT-P404B (HP part SU364A) is a twin pack of two original black toner cartridges for the Samsung Xpress SL-C430 and SL-C480 colour laser series — SL-C430, SL-C430W, SL-C480, SL-C480W, SL-C480FN and SL-C480FW. Each cartridge is rated for 1,500 pages to ISO/IEC 19798, about 3,000 pages in total.
Samsung printing supplies are now sold and supported by HP, which is why the part number is an HP SU code. Each cartridge in the pack is the same as the single CLT-K404S black (SU100A); buying two together suits offices that go through black faster than colour.
Before you order: There is no high-yield version of the 404 cartridges — 1,500 pages is the black rating for these printers.

What It Means in Practice
- With the second cartridge on the shelf, you swap black the moment the first one runs out and reorder at leisure.
- Page yields are measured by the manufacturer under standard test conditions (about 5% coverage on A4). Pages with photos, logos, solid areas or heavy colour use more toner, so real-world page counts are often lower — budget with that in mind.
- Keep the cartridge sealed in its bag until you install it, store it flat at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. A cartridge that has been dropped or stored in heat can leak or print streaks.
- When the printer first warns about low toner it normally keeps printing for a while. Having the replacement on the shelf avoids downtime, especially on shared office printers.
- Used original cartridges can go back through the manufacturer recycling scheme instead of general waste — ask us if you need the return details.
What Will Not Work
- Samsung Xpress mono models (for example M2020 or M2070 series) and other colour series that use 406 or 504 cartridges.
- Cyan, magenta and yellow — order the CLT-P404C 4-colour pack (SU365A) or the single colour cartridges.
- Printers outside the compatibility list. Cartridges with similar-looking numbers for other model series do not seat correctly or are rejected by the printer chip.
