The Samsung EP-DX510 is a genuine 1.8-metre USB-C to USB-C cable in black, rated at 5 A and published by Samsung for Power Delivery up to 100 W (20 V / 5 A) and Super Fast Charging 2.0 up to 45 W. That 5 A rating is the whole point of it: Samsung’s 45 W charging tier will not run over an ordinary 3 A cable, and this is the lead the 45 W adapters are designed around. It is USB 2.0 for data, which Samsung states as up to 480 Mb/s. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Both ends are USB-C, so this cable needs a charger, laptop or power bank with a USB-C output — it will not fit a rectangular USB-A socket. To actually see 45 W you need a 45 W adapter as well: Samsung says plainly on its 45 W adapter pages that a 5 A cable is required for 45 W and 65 W charging speeds, so the cable alone does not raise a 25 W charger’s output. Do not confuse it with the EP-DX310J, which is the same 1.8 m length in the same black finish but rated at 3 A, 60 W Power Delivery and 25 W Super Fast Charging. Samsung’s UK page publishes the data figure as well — USB 2.0 transfer speeds up to 480 Mb/s. That is a charging cable’s data rate rather than a transfer cable’s, so for moving large video files off a phone quickly you want a cable whose maker states a USB 3.x rate instead.

Do I actually need a 5 A cable?
Only if you have a 45 W or higher charger. Samsung states that 45 W and 65 W charging speeds require a 5 A cable, so on a 45 W adapter this cable is the difference between the tier working and not working. On a 25 W adapter it gives you nothing a 3 A cable does not, and the cheaper EP-DX310J is the sensible choice there.
What is the difference between EP-DX510J and EP-DX310J?
Current, and everything that follows from it. EP-DX510J is 5 A, 100 W Power Delivery, 45 W Super Fast Charging 2.0 and 55.79 g. EP-DX310J is 3 A, 60 W Power Delivery, 25 W Super Fast Charging and 39.08 g. Both are 1.8 m and both come in black, which is why listings confuse them constantly — check the middle digits, 510 against 310.
Can it charge a laptop?
Within its published ceiling, yes. Samsung publishes Power Delivery up to 100 W at 20 V and 5 A, which covers most USB-C laptops including those that ask for 65 W. The charger has to be able to supply it, of course — the cable sets the ceiling, not the floor.
Will it transfer files faster than a normal cable?
No. It is USB 2.0, and Samsung publishes up to 480 Mb/s for it. The 5 A rating is about power, not data. If fast transfer is what you need, look for a cable whose manufacturer states a USB 3.x or higher data rate — that is a different specification entirely.
