Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra — 14.6" AMOLED Wi-Fi Tablet with S Pen, 12GB / 256GB, Grey
14.6" 120Hz AMOLEDS Pen includedIP68 · 5.1 mmWi-Fi 7 · DeX
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra (SM-X940, Wi-Fi, Grey, 12GB RAM / 256GB) is Samsung's largest and most powerful Android tablet, with a 14.6-inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, an S Pen in the box and IP68 protection in a 5.1 mm body — for designers, students, executives and anyone who wants a laptop-sized screen for drawing, note-taking, multitasking and video.
It ships with Android 17 and One UI 9, with security updates guaranteed until 30 September 2033. Samsung DeX turns it into a desktop-style workspace with up to four virtual desktops, and with a keyboard cover (sold separately) it becomes a capable mobile workstation. This is the Wi-Fi-only version, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 but no SIM slot.
Before you order: Wi-Fi only — no mobile data. No charger is included; for the maximum 45W charging you need a 45W USB-C PD charger. Keyboards and covers are sold separately and must be the Tab S12 Ultra versions — the 14.6-inch body does not fit smaller Tab covers.
What's in the Box
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra (SM-X940), Wi-Fi, Grey, 12GB RAM / 256GB
- S Pen
- USB-C to USB-C data cable (3A, 1.0 m)
- Ejection pin and Quick Start Guide — no charger
What It Means in Practice
- The 14.6-inch 2960 × 1848 AMOLED panel at 120Hz and up to 1,600 nits is large enough to run two apps side by side at full usability, or edit photos and video with true blacks and accurate colour.
- 12GB RAM and the Dimensity 9500 handle DeX multitasking, Galaxy AI tools, video editing and games comfortably.
- The S Pen is included and needs no charging; it has no Bluetooth, so remote-shutter and Air actions are not available.
- 11,600mAh battery with up to 23 hours of video playback; charging up to 45W with a compatible charger.
- 256GB storage (about 227GB free) plus microSD up to 2TB; USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 for fast transfers and external displays.
- IP68 on a 5.1 mm, 692 g tablet — rated for fresh water at 1.5 m for 30 minutes.
What Will Not Work
- No mobile data or SIM slot: use Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot when travelling.
- No charger in the box.
- No 3.5 mm headphone jack: use USB-C or Bluetooth audio.
- No NFC: tap-to-pay and NFC pairing are not available on this tablet.
- Not a Windows device: desktop Windows or macOS software will not install; DeX runs Android apps.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The Tab S12 Ultra is the tablet we suggest when screen space is the priority — artists, students with heavy reading loads and executives who live in PDFs. Budget for a 45W charger, since none is included — the USB-C PD units in our USB-C chargers range work — and the matching keyboard cover if you will type a lot.
✓ Buy it if you want the biggest, sharpest Galaxy Tab with an S Pen for drawing, notes and multitasking, and support until 2033.
✕ Skip it if you need mobile data, a compact tablet you can hold in one hand, or Windows software.
→ Also consider the Galaxy Tab S10 FE if a 10.9" screen and a lower price suit you better.
